Overview

The Team Lead, Business Development will work with and report directly to the Manager, Business Development. He/she will be responsible for coaching and driving the right behaviors on the US BDR team. This person will be working with new hires and seasoned BDR reps to help with cold calling, prospecting emails, and product whiteboard demonstrations. Help promote team SLAs, prepare material and discussion points for team meetings, and monitor team performance.

 

The Team Lead, Business Development is someone who has proven success as a BDR rep at Mimecast or related Lead Generation role at another organization. This person has been able to meet or exceed their targets and has proven success in the role with at least 6 months of direct experience.

Responsibilities

As Team Lead, Business Development you will be responsible for, with metrics on:

  • Working in tandem with the Marketing Team, the individual will ensure leads are validated with key, up-to-date information leveraging tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, DiscoverOrg, D&B Hoovers, Data.com, RainKing, etc. 
  • Follow up on leads generated from marketing and yield them into qualified sales opportunities via calls, emails, and direct messages
  • Peek interest with professionals in the IT marketplace and understand the value Mimecast can add to their email messaging strategy
  • Route information to the appropriate sales professional and ensure accurate, detailed follow-up and engagement 
  • Meet company service level agreements (SLAs) for lead follow-up 
  • Research organizations and individuals online to identify potential new leads and new markets
  • Work with the Business Development Manager in encouraging a team focused on high-volume calling campaigns designed to create leads and source pipeline for the sales organization
  • Coach new and seasoned BDRs, getting them up to speed on Mimecast messaging, cold calling, and product whiteboards; assist new hires with best practices around leveraging lead generation tools
  • Prepare additional discussion points for team meeting, and any other area where the BDR Manager needs assistance
  • Provide daily leadership and coaching to colleagues
  • Assist BDRs via role plays and demo presentations

 

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communication preferred
  • 1-2 years of proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, Customer Service, or Project Management is a plus
  • IT/CIS background a plus
  • Experience with CRM software 
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
