The Solutions Engineer (Ordering Integration Implementation) is charged with defining and delivering ordering solutions for our enterprise restaurant brand partners. These include the nation’s largest and highest-growth brands.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating, executing and monitoring success of launches for our marketplace and branded channels. This role requires an “owner” approach to project execution, at times bringing order to chaos and anticipating needs to ensure the smooth facilitation of launches.
You will also engineer automated solutions and develop tools for internal usage to make the technical integrations and launches faster and more efficient for similar projects. Using a combination of development ranging from scripting, full-stack development to lightweight UI development you will create, manage, and deploy solutions that enable fellow team members, and internal stakeholders to rapidly repeat integration configurations on the Grubhub platform.
This position requires both technical and business acumen and is excellent for those who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with proven skills in project management, software development, cross-team coordination, and operations.
The Impact You Will Make
- Take an “owner” approach - Create, manage and execute project plans to ensure that deadlines are met, potential roadblocks and risk anticipated, escalated and solved for and alignment across teams delivered
- Use your technical chops - You’ll be asked to conduct product gap analysis, test API calls (using tools like Postman), write SQL to answer data questions, develop automated solutions, and understand the rough complexity of product enhancements.
- Switch from big picture to small details - You’re just as comfortable and excited to roadmap an architecture flow with a partner’s CTO as you are to review logs to triage pernicious bugs for their QA team.
- Write and maintain technical and process oriented documentation.
- Develop software solutions to enable others to repeatedly execute processes without technical expertise.
What You Bring to the Table
- You have outstanding communication skills - You’ll need to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders within and outside of our company. You’ll take calls with partners either representing our API & functionality or troubleshooting an issue.
- Be a fast learner - The software platform does a lot, and you’ll need to pick up all the ins and outs of the product in your first few months on the job, and retain all of that knowledge to help you with future projects.
- Some experience as a software engineer - Preferably development experience with JavaScript, PHP, .NET, or others), familiarity with relational databases; interest or experience is lightweight UI development, and willingness to learn and develop professionally as a software engineer.
