Overview

Indico is a venture-backed startup making the application of deep learning practical in the enterprise. Our focus is on helping to automate tedious back-office tasks, and improve the efficiency of labor-intensive document-based workflows. The fundamental branch of technology we use to achieve this is known as transfer learning, which allows us to train machine learning models with orders of magnitude less data than is required by traditional techniques, with a strong emphasis on NLP and text processing.


About the Position

The Solutions Consultant (SC) is a strategic technical advisor to prospects, partners, and the Indico sales team. SCs shepherd the client from a technical perspective through all aspects of the pre-sales process not only as a subject matter expert in the Indico IPA platform, but also in Intelligent Automation and IDP best practices. This role is a trusted and critical part of the sales function to include coaching and training sales team members on technical due diligence and product demonstrations. As an integral sales team member, there is shared ownership in achieving business objectives and revenue targets. Day to day, you can be expected to be switching contexts through a variety of tasks - filling out cells in a RFI spreadsheet, leading security questionnaire processing, quarterbacking a pilot, crafting a Statement of Work to map customer success criteria to product capabilities, or leading an introduction demonstration of our platform and performing technical discovery and Q&A.


This is a remote role and may be located in states ideally within the Eastern Time Zone. This role reports to the Director of Solutions Consulting and supports the Sales organization in a pre-sale capacity.


About You

You have a passion for technology, particularly in AI and/or deep learning, combined with your sincere desire to educate non-technical business users and stakeholders at an Enterprise level makes you a top-flight technical pre-sale professional. Mapping business needs to technical architectures or the other way around is relatively straightforward, because of your deep love of technology and prowess as a communicator. It is important that you are a multi-tasker and that you are hungry to learn, as becoming a trusted arm of the sales machine requires collaboration across Indico’s Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, R&D, Solution Engineering, and Customer Success teams. Adapting your conversational style to a variety of different audiences and stakeholders is natural. Not only can you talk tech to a techie, but you can help business executives understand tricky technology concepts simply. It’s integral that you have a roll up your sleeves attitude and self-start, but you rely on experiences you’ve had previously to guide you going forward. You’ve developed a muscle memory to learn a new platform and technology quickly, with minimal training and guidance.



Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of Indico IPA’s product offerings and service portfolio, from use case ideation to deployment
  • All things demonstration - presentations, webinars, walkthroughs, product demonstrations & deep-dives
  • Conduct Workshops, POCs, and Technical Evaluations for prospects and potential partners, always driving understanding and accomplishing success criteria for prospects and partners
  • Expert Statement of Work crafting for presales activities that allows customers and company to minimize resource time but prove value
  • Interact with qualified users and stakeholders, finding the best way to solve their particular needs
  • Communicate with clients to ensure that they are comfortable with the adoption of machine learning
  • Drive and manage technical evaluation stage of pre-sales process, focused on efficiency and identifying gaps
  • Think critically about new ways to visualize data and make the machine learning process more relatable to end users
  • Collaborate with prospects and partners alike to identify and qualify use cases that align with the Indico IPA platforms core capabilities
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and help guide customers to solutions that deliver value, working across the Indico organization (R&D, Product, Customer Success, Solution Engineering, Engineering) to translate customer requirements into solutions that deliver value to the customers
  • Become an Indico IPA evangelist, educating and teaching prospects and partners on how to use and adopt the Indico IPA platform
  • Coordinate, collate and deliver responses to RFx requests

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales with balance of sales, business, and technical skills (you’ve had previous roles as a PreSales or Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant with strong experience on the pre-sale side)
  • Ability to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to build strong and lasting relations at the C-level at large Enterprise organizations, technical and tactical implementers, or COE masters
  • Working knowledge of deep learning
  • Understanding of technology across different industries, new and emerging standards, IT infrastructures, hunger to learn and understand new technology trends
  • Impeccable written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Team player but still a self-starter thriving in a multi-tasking environment, adjusting priorities on-the-fly
  • Willingness to travel - up to 25-50% (post-pandemic)

Bonus

  • Comfort with basic ETL and data science processes (Pandas + sklearn) 
  • Comfort building simple backend servers (Python + Tornado)

Location

Indico Data's Boston HQ is currently out of Venture Lane near Governments Center. We have team members spread across the United States but the majority of the team is still in Boston and a few folks come in occasionally to use the co-working space!
