Position Summary

The sales and commercial operations manager will manage the internal operations to support sales activities for all business areas of GNS. He/She will work closely with the Managed Care and the Pharma sales and account management teams to provide support for their business development activities. He/She must be able to work effectively across GNS’s groups and at all levels of client organizations, and thrive within a fast-paced and exciting team environment. He/She will play a critical role in the company’s success and take great pride in seeing the results of their work in closed contracts. In this role, He/She will have responsibility for:

  • Assisting in developing forecasts and pipeline reports utilizing salesforce for all business areas of GNS.
  • Customizing salesforce, as needed, to facilitate customized reporting 
  • Optimizing current processes and developing additional tools, as needed, to ensure an efficient framework for the organization of proposals. Standardize processes for efficiency
  • Working with internal team to develop/optimize materials for proposals. Develop a library of materials to be used for future proposals.
  • Assist with generating cost and timeline calculations. Work with finance to monitor profitability and resource allocation post contract signing 
  • Detailed planning of tasks for scope of work, including deliverables for each task
  • Turning accepted proposals into contract material, such as Statement of Works. Work with internal teams and clients to facilitate an efficient contracts process.
  • Optimizing the process for lead follow up and following up on and qualifying marketing leads and information requests that come into GNS via our newsletter, blogs, conference attendance and other sources.
  • Performing research and literature review to assist in developing materials for the sales team to support client development and engagement activities
  • Preparing tailored powerpoint presentations for client meetings and developing additional supporting material as needed
  • Providing sales support to increase awareness of and drive engagement to company webinars, events, and other activities
  • Monitoring sales dashboard to measure success and identify continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5+ years of work experience in a sales operations or commercial operations role
  • Experience working in the life sciences or healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience working in a professional services organization preferred 
  • Experience optimizing processes and streamlining activities to increase sales effectiveness
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of a client organization
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite programs (predominantly Word and PowerPoint). Experience with SharePoint a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high energy and enthusiasm. Ability to work proactively
  • Experience using a CRM (Salesforce) preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, detail orientation, and prioritizing skills
