Presales Consultant

Presales Consultants influence and support the sales process with a powerful combination of technical product knowledge, industry domain expertise, and business acumen. You will drive technical discovery and solution selling by supporting all aspects of the sales process, from initial contact through  discovery, solution positioning, and POC or production deal close. As the key technical leader and solution expert in the sales process, you will partner with the sales team and other customer-facing groups to define and execute strategies to solve client problems and win business. Ideal candidates will be adept at listening to what prospects need, distilling that into essential requirements, mapping that against the capabilities of our products, and presenting potential solutions - all in real-time as customer discussions and meetings unfold. Team players with a relentless commitment and accountability for solving customer problems and driving the company will excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in customer meetings and calls
  • Drive the discovery process
  • Define the problem/solution fit
  • Present the product
  • Build and present demos 
  • Respond to RFPs
  • Present differentiators, articulating benefits and positioning
  • Partner with sales to identify customer needs, business issues and use cases 
  • Assist in creating customer-specific product positioning and strategy
  • Configure and present Anzo for specific industry use cases 
  • Understand difficult technical and business challenges in domains such as drug discovery and research, IoT, marketing/sales, and data management.
  • Develop expertise in graph, semantic, and AI/ML technologies
  • Apply data science algorithms to deliver impactful insights to customers
  • Work with Product Management to drive product improvements and product
    roadmap
  • Recognized as technical point of contact and technology/market expert by
    customer
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of competitive product lines 
  • Provide continuous knowledge transfer to the sales 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Strong candidates will have many but not necessarily all of the following.

  • 5+ years experience in a sales engineering, technical account management or professional services role, focused on supporting sales in enterprise accounts
  • Some travel required for customer meetings, conferences, etc
  • Strong communications skills for product demonstrations and presentations to technical non-technical and influencer audiences
  • Excellent written skills for RFP responses, proposals, pricing, and gathering technical requirements
  • Ability to quickly absorb and distill prospects’ communications regarding their needs and goals and then respond with focused ideas on how that can be applied to Cambridge Semantics’ solutions. Agile “on-your-feet” thinking and response is key
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems and apply technical solutions
  • Knowledge of complex enterprise architectures, ability to position Anzo in those environments and explain impact and integration points
  • Ability to drive an RFP/RFI response process
  • Strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following technical domains: Enterprise data management and data management platforms, Data modeling, Graph data models, Semantics, and Analytics
  • Software development experience (Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, Scala)
  • Software implementation in both Linux and Windows OS
  • Implementation of data management or analytics projects involving enterprise software products 
  • Administration and deployment of Hadoop and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and
    Azure)
  • Operation and maintenance of full-stack applications and databases
  • Semantic Web Technologies (OWL, RDF, SPARQL)
  • Data Science and Analytic tools such as R Studio and SAS
