Root is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise sales with excellent phone and presentation skills. The Root Account Executive will increase revenues from Root's existing customer base, as well as develop new prospects within the territory.

We are looking for someone to help us establish and own strategies for scale and growth who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Ideally this person is looking for growth opportunities and the chance to take on new challenges with an early stage startup with an amazing team and product.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive sales and develop business around the Root Experience for Schools, which includes our Root Robot, Coding App, Curricular content and ongoing support
  • Define and implement territory sales plans that strategically build a network of key clients, advocates, and extend market reach
  • Consistently achieve or exceed quota targets within territory through new clients and upsells to existing customers
  • Managing multiple complex sales with 3-6 month sales cycles and a dynamic buyer landscape
  • Maintain a revenue base by managing account retention and renewal
  • Ensure that client issues and/or concerns are managed and/or escalated to appropriate levels
  • Help implementing CRM to assist with account based selling
  • Represent Root at Industry Conferences 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with a sales or account management team, preferably in a start-up or fast growth environment
  • Experience working with enterprise clients
  • A verifiable track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • A firm grasp of solution selling
  • Knowledge of Inbound Marketing or the aptitude to learn it quickly and independently
  • Clear and articulate communication skills and the ability to effectively drive a phone conversation
  • Phenomenal organizational skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience in K12 market
  • Experience in Edtech sales or account management
