About Hopper

Hopper is the smart way to book travel on your phone. Combining massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper predicts and analyzes airfare and accommodation to save users money and enable them to travel more often.

Since its launch in 2015, Hopper has become one of the fastest growing travel apps ever with over 25 million installs to date. The app has received accolades such as Fast Company’s Most Innovative Company in Travel 2018, the Google Play Award for Standout Startup of 2016, and Apple’s App Store Best of 2015.

The Role

We’re looking for a creative, confident individual to join our Airline Partnerships team. On a day-to-day basis you will be the primary point of contact for multiple currently contracted airlines, and you will also pursue pipeline opportunities for new partnerships with prospective airlines.

As part of the small supply-side team responsible for supporting $500M/year in flight sales, this is an opportunity to have immediate impact in a high-growth environment. Airline sales and distribution is a distinct field so prior experience in B2C consumer travel (OTA, airline, etc) is preferred. The strongest candidates will be able to intuitively communicate Hopper’s unique approach and frame how it complements airline efforts.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the full scope of partnership for a group of currently contracted airlines, including: contract negotiation and renewals, marketing funds, service funds, ticketing operations and agency support
  • Enhance the depth of current airline partnerships by opening new points of sale, implementing incentive programs and exploring private fare offers
  • Identify opportunities with unaffiliated airlines and own the partner acquisition cycle from first contact to close
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure airline display requirements are met in the app and with the data science team to analyze and communicate partner performance

A perfect candidate has:

  • Extensive experience doing business development for consumer travel technology or e-commerce companies
  • Been part of a startup or works best with a close-knit team and fast-paced environment
  • A penchant for data-driven decisions, able to adapt to new or changing direction based on user feedback and market demands
  • The ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty, ambiguity, and quickly evolving goal

Sound like a fit? We can’t wait to hear from you.

Benefits

  • Well-funded and proven startup with larger ambitions, competitive salary and stock options
  • Dynamic and entrepreneurial team where pushing limits is everyday business
  • Access to comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, all on us
  • In Cambridge, work in a historic factory building near Kendall Square; in Montreal, work in an artist’s loft in the Mile End
  • Easy commute with a paid-for public transportation or paid parking
  • IATA Travel Agent Card for discounts in the travel industry
  • Fully stocked kitchen with: coffee/tea, beer, bagels and healthy snacks
  • Team lunches, off-site activities and much more!
