About the Group Account Director Position

The Account Management team is instrumental in driving this forward and is responsible for building strong relationships, helping to solve our client’s business challenges and to see the next great opportunity. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a new Group Account Director to join our team on this exciting journey!

In this role, you will work with a diverse client portfolio to ensure their long-term success. With an understanding of their business goals and objectives, you will work to develop a roadmap that will guide the relationship over time while simultaneously providing the daily oversight and client consultation necessary to keep their projects on track. Ensuring our clients are satisfied with the services we deliver is a fundamental element of the Group Account Director position.

Each Group Account Director manages an assigned client portfolio. Approximately 25% travel is required (and a perk) of this role.

This role is located at our Headquarters in Boston. Relocation will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Drive diverse teams of thinkers and doers through a fantastic experience 
  • Be a key point of contact for our clients as well as our internal leadership 
  • Grow and mature the long-term strategy centered on our clients’ business goals and objectives utilizing SMEs within Verndale and the client 
  • Get personal with our clients. Routine visits and conversations make you the best internal and external advocate we can have 
  • Expand Verndale’s reach and influence within each account.
  • Contribute to Verndale's growth and pioneering spirit by sharing your knowledge and leading by example 
  • Drive the lifetime value (LTV) and overall satisfaction of each client
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to pitch new prospects and lead the transition process as they engage with Verndale
    • Strong management background; ability to work tactically and strategically.
    • Provide the appropriate level of oversight to ensure projects are successfully completed – properly, on time, on budget
    • Maintain high client satisfaction scores and retention rates
    • Ensure the Account Manager(s) on your team is well trained and mentored
    • Maintain 20-30% utilization across client portfolio

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of enterprise-level experience in the delivery of digital projects, including web sites, mobile applications, eCommerce technology, marketing automation, etc.
  • Comfort with executive-level interactions and the ability to navigate contract negotiations and the occasional challenging conversation
  • Ability to manage at an account portfolio level and deliver concise reports and compelling presentations to key stakeholders 
  • Experience in professional services is a big plus. It will help you to learn, adapt and grow quickly. 
  • Patience and appreciation for organizations of different sizes including highly complex, tiered, political and geographically disparate locations
    • Understanding of the implementation lifecycle and methodologies
    • Proven ability to recommend and apply industry and technical best practices
    • Strong contributor with high motivation, with the ability to take initiative, set priorities and perform tasks with minimal guidance
  • Strong strategic selling skills. You know how to identify an opportunity, craft a solution and tell a compelling story.
  • You are fantastic in a room. You're an excellent presenter, great at reading a room, and can always contribute something.
