We have had great success in recent years distributing our annuity and life-LTC combination products through our financial institution relationships. To further this success we must evolve our strategy to reach more customers where they are, on their terms, with the products they need. For that reason, we are pleased to announce that MassMutual will be forming a dedicated third-party distribution channel, MassMutual Strategic Distributors (MMSD). MMSD will continue to build on the annuity and life-LTC combination strategy and expand the product solution offering to include life and disability insurance. We hiring multiple positions across the country to support this new channel.?
MMSD?s strategy is to aggressively grow top line sales by expanding existing and establishing new partnerships with financial institutions (wire houses, banks, broker-dealers) and making significant investments in technology, sales, operations, marketing and product development. Our strategy will be driven by dedicated teams across the enterprise where we will prioritize a dynamic, agile, and entrepreneurial culture.
Why we need you.

We are looking to build a dynamic team of external wholesalers to drive the sales of MassMutual?s disability insurance solutions to third party distributors. In this role you will build and grow relationships with distributors to support independent insurance advisors and national broker/dealers. You will be responsible for territory production, penetration rates and diversity of products sold through third-party distributors.
What success looks like.
- Knowledge of disability insurance sales solutions, develops sales ideas to share with financial professionals ?
- Proven track record of success with third party distributors in achieving territory sales objective
- Demonstrated sales and presentation skills including strong negotiation skills
- Success in building and maintaining strong relationships with centers of influence
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, team-oriented, organizational skills ?
Job Responsibilities.
- Maintain proactive sales relationships with financial professionals of respective territory and/or assigned accounts through ongoing financial professional profiling, constant relationship-building, and refining and refreshing financial professional base
- Execute on specific activity expectations to maximize opportunities to grow sales through financial professional relationships
- Provide sales management with weekly updates on activity within the assigned territory
- Monitors territory activities to assure they are meeting the overall company objectives
- Effectively manage travel and expense budget ?
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in disability insurance wholesale distribution
- 2+ years of experience in an external wholesaling position
- Proven track record of developing sales results in assigned territory
- Experience in all channels of disability insurance distribution is optimal
- Ability to work remotely within your assigned territory
- State Life and Health license

- Bachelor's Degree
- FINRA 6 or 7 and 63
