Minimum qualifications

• 10+ years of business development experience, preferably a mix of startup and larger enterprise experience

• Is a self starter and has the hustle to close big deals autonomously

• Experience with C-level partnership negotiations

• Ability to lead analysis-driven negotiation processes

• Proven closing skills

• Familiarity with the travel or Fintech industry

• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, including comfort with basic modeling

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment


About the job

Hopper has officially launched a brand new category in travel - a suite of Fintech products beloved by customers that transform the economics of selling flights and hotels. While we have already secured over $100M of revenue in months, with an estimated market size of $80B and no competitors, the Hopper Cloud Enterprise BD role is a once in a lifetime opportunity to establish a brand new category in the travel sector. 


As an Enterprise BD Lead you will be focused on getting Hopper Cloud’s Fintech products into OTAs, Metas, TMCs, and offline agencies. You will source & qualify leads before initiating contact and move all the way through closing accounts across the world as well as taking a strategic view of our overall sales strategy to identify new channels for us to grow. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities with prospective customers and own the acquisition cycle from sourcing to close
  • Manage the full scope of closing a client including: initial target prioritization, scoping, pitching, and contract negotiation
  • Identify and pursue new channels for us to grow
  • Identify and represent Hopper in relevant trade shows and conferences
  • Have a tight relationship with the Product Team responsible for bringing your vision and contracts to reality
  • Helping to craft our product roadmap and help make product decisions that will allow us to scale more effectively

Today, Hopper is best known as a travel app. We're going to do about $1B in sales this year and weathered the COVID storm better than anyone expected. We just raised $170M from Goldman Sachs and Capital One, and inked a deal to be the exclusive travel provider for Capital One Travel.


We owe our success, in large part, to a proprietary suite of data-driven and risk-based financial services that we have developed that complement a customer's trip-purchasing experience. One example is Price Freeze, where our customers are able to purchase a financial option in the app to lock in any price that they see, on any item, for as short as 1 hour or as long as 21 days with Hopper taking the risk on the other side of the trade.
