Cogito is seeking an experienced Director of Sales Enablement and Operations to join our team. In this role, you’ll have the ability and latitude to develop creative solutions to ensure our sales organization can spend time on what is most important to them, selling! More broadly, this is a unique opportunity to build a functional area from the ground up in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Although this role is the first dedicated sales enablement and operations role at Cogito, this individual will have supportive partners in product marketing, operations, and finance to ensure s/he has the support needed to be successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the function focused on enabling and supporting both the direct and indirect sales organization
  • Collaborate with product marketing to organize and maintain sales and services collateral for access by internal (e.g., sales and services personnel) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, partners and analysts)
  • Enhance the rep on-boarding program to make sure the time to productivity is shortened
  • Define a sales enablement framework and implement this framework to ensure reps are trained and certified in a timely manner; including a formal methodology / certification programs
  • Proactively identify, coordinate, and deliver training and enablement or utilize existing Cogito personnel to do such
  • Manage sales data, key metrics, and insights to drive business performance and increase rep effectiveness
  • Deliver proactive and predictive data-driven insights to sales leadership to enable rapid decision making
  • Coach reps on how to build sales plans and help them identify where to focus
  • Own territory planning and assist sales management in identifying rep priority coverage areas
  • Create, refine, and implement sales, solutions consulting, and business justification incentive plans
  • Support the creation and evaluation of broader sales compensation
  • Partner with the services and product functions to ensure sales has a “data-driven” voice to help influence priorities and provide feedback
  • Create reporting dashboards such that the business can use the information to optimize and speed-up decision-making
  • Assist with rep hiring or retention initiatives, as necessary
  • Oversee the administration and use of enterprise software applications used by the sales team

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of sales enablement and/or sales operations experience required
  • Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience supporting and enabling enterprise field sales organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to build a high-performance team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction 
  • Proven ability to set and achieve challenging goals 
  • Knowledge of the insurance, financial services, or healthcare markets are a plus
