Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking a Business Development and Strategy Manager to join an innovative and dynamic team that develops and tests industry-leading aerospace products and vehicles.  This individual will be working with a multi-disciplined, fast paced team and should be prepared to work on a large variety of interesting projects. We are looking for an independent thinker that is self-motivated, goal oriented, and willing to learn something new every day!

Position Summary:

  • Generate detailed understanding of the industry and competitive landscape through primary research and engagement
  • Develop an understanding of the actual customer by generating a detailed knowledge of the customers’ needs, behaviors, how they satisfy these needs, and the value delivered
    • Engage with potential customers across the value chain (conduct interviews, attend conferences, conduct primary research, host focus groups)
  • Engage with potential business partners to support programs’ delivery by building relationships with potential partners, developing a recommended strategy, and drafting business documents
  • Understand and influence other organizations within the ecosystem that serve as control points for our commercial programs (e.g. other pieces of the value chain, regulators etc)
  • Develop analytics and recommended strategies for consumption by the programs and senior leadership
  • Support the sector with business modeling to support business gate reviews, go-to-market strategies, and funding requests

Position Requirements:

  • Key skills: Problem solving skills, independent thinker, ability to independently execute a plan and multitask, take ownership of the small projects, endless curiosity, willing to challenge the status-quo
  • Work closely with the program to understand their issues
  • Collect information by conducting interviews, facilitating workshops, and conducting primary research
  • Provide analytical rigor by computing, analyzing, and interpreting numerical data and modeling impact
  • Generate hypotheses and analytics to test the hypotheses
  • Translate data into meaningful recommendations
  • Generate written and verbal communication to make recommendations and win buy-in for the strategies
  • Partner with the program leadership to ensure they are successful
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • MBA preferred
  • Management Consulting experience focused on industry analysis, commercialization strategies preferred
