As a Sales Development Representative, you will identify new prospects, book meetings for Account Managers, and engage with website visitors. Training provided.
We are looking for a motivated and curious Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help fuel our growth. Your primary responsibility will be to identify new prospects and book qualified meetings for our Account Managers (AMs). You'll actively prospect into key accounts across pharma, biotech, and academia, and you'll also play a key role as part of our website chat team, engaging with visitors in real time to identify qualified leads.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with a scientific background who’s eager to break into commercial biotech. Sales experience is helpful, but not required—we’ll provide full onboarding and training.
What You'll Be Doing- Outbound prospecting into net new accounts using email, phone, and LinkedIn.
- Book discovery meetings with qualified contacts for the Account Management team.
- Serve as a front-line representative on the Twist Bioscience website chat, engaging visitors, answering initial questions, and directing them to appropriate resources or booking meetings.
- Research key contacts and decision-makers in target accounts, including PIs, lab managers, and procurement.
- Use CRM (e.g., Salesforce.com) to log activity, track outreach, and ensure meeting booking KPIs are met.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to align on strategy for named accounts and campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology) or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—comfortable engaging with researchers and scientists.
- Organized, proactive, and goal-oriented with strong attention to detail.
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to learn and use CRM and chat platforms efficiently.
- Comfortable multitasking between outreach and real-time engagement via chat.
- Sales experience is a plus but not required—training will be provided.
- Be at the forefront of innovation in genomics and synthetic biology.
- Build foundational skills in scientific sales and customer engagement.
