We are seeking a Quality Manager for our Conneaut, Ohio Plant.
Position Summary:
Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the overall development and administration of Quality resources within the Conneaut plant. Through input from customer, supplier, Division, and Conneaut plant Staff, the Quality Manager will allocate manpower resources to project teams and programs.
Responsible for establishing and reviewing process controls, emphasizing customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and waste reduction. Measurement systems and inspection techniques are to be developed and maintained to advance Quality Department goals and objectives in support of Conneaut plant goals and objectives as monitored and reported through Key Operating Parameters (KOP).
Direct activities and resources to obtain third party registration to QS-9000 standards, which shall include being a member of the management review team and overseeing Document and Data Control.
Essential Job Functions:
- Establish and track Quality department goals and objectives
- Determine Quality department standards, practices, and procedures
- Establish and maintain product Quality Standards
- Track external customer Quality issues, e.g. concerns, rejections, PPM, and 8D problem solving
- Track internal customer Quality issues, e.g. Rejection Tags and Process Alerts
- Track supplier Quality issues and performance
- Support plant safety procedures and safety policies
- Direct lab personnel regarding performance and material testing
- Allocate Quality resources to project teams, programs, and manufacturing process improvement teams
- Assist in daily review of production quality performance
- Assist Production and Maintenance to achieve effective and efficient production of quality parts
- Schedule and chair regular Quality Review meetings to Appraise Management of Quality Dept. issues to ensure suitability and effectiveness of Quality System
- Work with Engineering to develop project launch strategy, capital needs, program timing in support of all APQP, PPAP, MSA and ISO9001/IATF16949 requirements
- Work with Quality Engineers and Technicians to document trends in quality, compare against customer standards and plant goals
- Support advance Quality activities, elements and schedules
- Represents Conneaut plant at the customer in the area of Quality
- Develop short and long term strategy to support customer requirements, as required
- Manage safety as an equal to other key functions
- Monitor departmental action items to ensure timely and effective correction of issues
- Hold supervision and employees accountable for safety activities
- Support safety training and ensure personnel are in attendance
- Know details of all injuries and of corrective actions taken

- Employee training, development plan and status report
- Annual employee performance reviews
- Customer issues and corrective actions logs
- Process Alert and nonconformance Rejection logs
Qualifications - External
Qualifications:
- Requires a BS degree from a credited college, university or technical school.
- Ten years related experience and/or training in quality supervision or manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of part layout, SPC, engineering specifications, IATF16949 and manufacturing operations, class “A” exterior body panels (preferred), and automotive customer portals.
