Technical Consultants work with customers in all stages (brand new, getting up to speed, and HubSpot veterans), and on a wide variety of technical projects. These projects can range from helping new customers implement and integrate the HubSpot software, custom design projects, API integrations, building better business processes, and general HubSpot product training. The TC team works very closely with other members of the HubSpot services team to ensure customers are highly successful and getting full value from the HubSpot software.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver remote and on-site consulting for customers
  • Provide project management and guidance for technical implementations
  • Collaborate with Services team members to support customer success
  • Provide HubSpot product training
  • CRM Integrations/Salesforce assistance
  • Website/Forms Integrations
  • Build email templates
  • HTML/CSS/JS assistance
  • Training for web developers/designers
  • API assistance & solution design

What you’ll need

At its core there are three overarching categories that make a successful TC: technical knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.

Technical Knowledge:

  • HTML/CSS/JS/jQuery skills (be able to build pages/styles/scripts from scratch, know what each language is capable of doing, and when to use which one)
  • API knowledge (generally how they work/how programmers work with them, designing solutions, and specifically what HubSpot’s APIs can or can’t do, not necessarily how to implement them)
  • Previous Marketing Automation and Salesforce admin knowledge helpful but not required

Communication Skills:

  • Very comfortable speaking with clients on the phone and in person
  • Ability to take the lead on conference calls and control the flow of the discussion
  • Be able to say “no” when it’s the right answer, without damaging a customer’s success or retention
  • Explain technical concepts to both savvy and non-savvy audiences
  • Become a cohesive part of the Services team

Problem-Solving Ability:

  • Think outside the standard use cases of the HubSpot product
  • Design scalable, maintainable solutions using your HTML/CSS/Javascript skills
  • Design and plan implementation for complicated systems integrations
  • Find ways for customers with internal roadblocks to get maximum value from HubSpot’s software
