Our Ideal Candidate:


The role of the Project Manager is essential in ensuring successful project planning and execution at Mendix customers. Experience in managing software development projects in large enterprise environments is required for this position.


This person will serve as a liaison between Mendix and the customer by planning, directing and coordinating the designated project to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within an established time frame and budget parameters. The ideal candidate is an experienced cross‐functional team leader with extensive understanding and experience in Agile / Scrum methodologies. The right candidate is able to effectively manage multiple stakeholders with varying needs, including internal Mendix departments (sale, product development, operations, finance etc.) for the purposes of delivering an exceptional customer experience.


Communication is a key part of this role; the PM serves as the primary point of contact and central hub for communication for all technical and commercial opportunities and challenges related to project activities for both Mendix’s personnel as well as the customer.

 

You’ll help our customers drive digital innovation by:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate activities with a given project from initiation to closure. This encompasses proposal and engagement development including scope definition, delivery approach, project plan, deliverable definition, articulation of risks, assumptions, and dependencies, team structure, roles and responsibilities, governance model.
  • Coaching in agile/scrum delivery methodologies and advise on leading practices on implementing agile to achieve greatest business value.
  •  Proactively managing scope, schedule, budget, risk/issue, resourcing, stakeholders
  • Managing risks and escalations from both the customer and our internal teams in terms of issues that could put the success of the project at risk 
  • Delivering “No-Surprise” engagements – coordinate and maintain active communication between all relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborating with the business development team, the delivery team, and any other relevant stakeholders to review and refine project scope and customer requirements, and ensuring alignment with the project team, and internal leadership team.
  • Ensuring proper management and visibility of the latest project status in the Mendix project/financial management application
  •  Developing and maintaining a network of relationships - this position is the ambassador and central communication hub between our customers and Mendix.
  • Participating in business development expansion activities with respect to all customer requirements, scope of work and timelines
  • Continuously helping evolve our project delivery methodology, processes, and tools

To be successful in this role, we believe you need to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent organization and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience delivering agile projects, and knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience delivering digital applications
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent engagements, and streams of work 
  • Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to influence and foster an environment of shared accountability
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills

You're the innovator we need if you have:

  • Scrum Master Certification - Required 
  • PMP Certification - Nice to have 
  • 7+ years of project management experience 
  • 4+ years of agile delivery experience 
  •  Consulting background with an emphasis on delivery management for external customers
