About the team
We put the customer at the center of everything we do, and everyone who works at Drift has a part in driving customer success. Marketing departments depend on individuals that have an operational mindset and come to rely on their Program Managers to ensure all parties are aligned with the prioritized work. They are typically known as the one source of truth. It’s up to the Marketing team to create the market, deliver an amazing customer experience, and fill the funnel for our high-performing Sales team.
About the Role
The Marketing organization at Drift is looking for a vibrant, self-starter to fill the role of Principal Program Manager. This is a key leadership role for a results-oriented person with the ability to communicate effectively, encourage sound decision-making, and guide the teams he / she works with to successfully deliver on commitments. This individual will drive the execution of various initiatives including but not limited to website launches, digital campaigns and prospect / customer events.
Drift has transformed into a Digital First company. We continue to hire with all interviewing and onboarding done virtually due to COVID-19.
All new and existing Drift employees will continue to work virtually until it’s safe to return to our conversational spaces. When the time comes to re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in one of our conversational spaces in Boston, MA, San Francisco, CA or Tampa, FL.
By month 3 you'll
- Attend comprehensive organization training and learn the Drift story, how we work and our goals for the future
- Experience an in-depth product training, including learning how to use the product for your own business
- Have 1:1 meetings with your direct manager and meet with other key players
- Shadow colleagues in both Marketing and Sales, learn best practices for what make Drift Customers successful
- Collaborate across business lines to identify, leverage and integrate marketing ideas and activities
- Liaise with Product Marketing and Demand Generation teams to ensure deadlines are being met
- Take our existing Asana and transform it into a project-oriented alignment machine
- Organize regular meetings to increase visibility into priority work
- Lead meetings to align teams on what needs to be done to keep maximizing our resources and delivering the best work of our lives
By month 6 you'll
- Have the Marketing department humming through the optimization and adoption of Asana
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Review deliverables prepared by the team before passing to key stakeholders.
- Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards.
- Prepare for reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Identify and manage project risk - and escalate issues when needed to remove blockers.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Review the status reports of team members in a collaborative environment and address issues as appropriate.
By 1 year you’ll
- Continue to create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Continue to work cross-functionally to help ensure the coordination of campaigns and offers while keeping the team focused on the determined goals and KPIs
- Work closely with global sales and marketing teams to define enablement program timeline
- Manage global marketing programs calendar and communication plan
About you and what type of skills you’ll need:
You have previous experience working in an agency and / or internal marketing department where high quality results are required along with extensive experience managing the creation of traditional marketing materials. A Principal Program Manager is highly comfortable facilitating and coaching teams in a fast paced, solutions oriented environment. They are considered the “glue” in the overall process as projects are prioritized and executed.
- You have 6+ years program management experience in the print & digital space.
- You have extensive working with web development, with a focus on communication platforms and other web technologies.
- You demonstrate a strong command of the digital and social media channels.
- You’ve worked with creative teams and a solid understanding of the creative process.
- You have a strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills (verbal / presentation / written).
- You have proven leadership capabilities to advise on goal setting, vision, and resource planning to teams working through complex programs and launches.
- Your experience involves delivering large cross functional programs and projects in a difficult and ever changing environment.
- You are an Asana power user
- You have a proven ability to effectively leverage common Marketing tools (Google Workspace, Airtable, Jira, etc.).
