We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to manage and coordinate a complex development program including transition into overseas contract manufacturing. This individual will have a matrix managed cross functional team and will be responsible for meeting program objectives including schedule, development cost, product cost, and quality metrics. The position reports to the VP of Engineering.

What you'll do:

  • Run weekly cross-functional, program team meetings to plan, execute, and deliver a complex high volume product composed of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Maintain program metrics for schedule, cost of development, cost of goods, and quality.
  • Provide phase gate deliverables according to the guidelines of our Product Development Process.
  • Negotiate feature/cost/schedule tradeoffs with product and senior management.
  • Serve as our program liaison to our customer's point of contact (OEM, Ride Share)
  • Identify bottlenecks, provide escalation guidance for identified issues, evaluate options and find alternatives.
  • Coordinate and track design iterations and dynamic changes during development builds.
  • Coordinate all design testing activities including alpha and beta unit testing.
  • Coordinate with domestic and overseas contract manufacturers to ensure smooth production ramp.
  • Coordinate the process for identifying and obtaining all relevant regulatory and agency approvals (such as UL, ETL, TUV, etc.)

What we're looking for:

  • Prior experience managing a complex, high-volume hardware development program. (REQUIRED)
  • Prior experience managing a mobile and cloud based software program. (REQUIRED)
  • Prior experience working with Chinese contract manufacturers and suppliers. (REQUIRED)
  • 5+ years of experience in a product development environment.
  • Successful track record of managing complex technology projects with aggressive schedules and evolving product requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management.
  • Experience with matrix management and management through influence. 
  • Interest in working in a fun, startup-type culture and helping the team grow into a mature organization.
  • Experience with electric mobility technologies is a plus.
  • BS in Engineering is a plus.
