OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
Reporting to the Vice President of the Strategic PMO, the Senior Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the executive team in the planning and execution of key strategic initiatives of the enterprise. This role will interact regularly with senior leaders to define and execute strategic plans, measure progress, and influence decisions that are in the best interest of the business. You will also play a key role in M&A related activities, driving pre- and post-close workstream planning, cross-functional coordination, executive communication, and value delivery for the enterprise. A strong candidate will possess excellent relationship management and communication skills to help facilitate collaboration and successful business outcomes.
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Clearly, concisely, and effectively communicate with all levels of the enterprise, with particular emphasis on executive teams.
- Support annual strategic planning activities, prioritization, and operating plan development to drive focus of the enterprise on key levers to drive business performance.
- Support Investment Committee activities to identify and evaluate investment opportunities through the development of business cases, supported by data, and build/buy recommendations.
- Drive disciplined integration management through pre- and post-close cross-functional planning processes, governance, and clear decision-making frameworks (including issue escalation procedures). Leverage appropriate tooling to maintain an integrated plan.
- Coordinate preparation and development of materials in support of monthly QBR and Board Meetings.
- Translate the strategic priorities of the enterprise into action, supporting the execution of key strategic initiatives.
- Help define the priorities and areas of focus for the Strategic PMO to best serve the business, consistent with evolving business needs.
- Maintain an understanding of the "big picture" to support and influence leaders in individual business areas in plan development to achieve key business objectives.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication through strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Support the development and distribution of key templates and work products to guide workstream leads through a clear planning processes, including timelines and deliverables.
- Identify issues through ad hoc analyses and escalate to senior leaders as needed.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and high performance across all functions and functional teams.
- Foster a high degree of trust in handling of strategic and highly sensitive information.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience performing the principal activities of a Program Manager or Project Manager in a commercial organization whose primary revenue streams are derived from software product development and sales.
- 5+ years proven experience leading, mentoring, and coaching cross-functional and distributed teams of professional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to create quantitative management frameworks and drive a data-driven culture in the organization.
- Knowledgeable about Program Portfolio Management techniques and methods such as Risk Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Quality Management and Information Technology Governance principles.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills and abilities that translate into the ability to effectively drive cross-functional teams of Skillsoft professionals engaged in implementation of the company's top strategic priorities.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from the Executive Suite to individual contributors and across and outside of the company.
- Customer Focused – personally demonstrated that both external and internal customers are a high priority by identifying, and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Relationship Management – proven experience managing external partner and client relationships to the mutual satisfaction and benefit of the company and the external partner/client.
