Look no further, Wayfair Finance is looking for an innovative, self-starting, highly analytical Senior Manager of Strategic Projects to join the Strategic Projects team within the Financial Planning and Analysis group (FP&A).

The Strategic Projects team acts as an internal consulting group within Wayfair supporting cross-functional, project based work to drive value across the organization. As a Senior Manager, you will lead a project team that will partner with Senior Leaders to drive innovation and change that supports the growth of the business. This role combines strong business and strategic acumen with the ability to deep dive topics with rigorous quantitative and strategic analysis. This team has a bias towards action and a focus on driving change, with the ability to iterate towards an end-state solution given the fast-paced nature of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with both Senior and Junior teams throughout the Organization; Become their ‘go-to’ sounding board and change agent.
  • Influence decision making through a fact-based approach to ensure business partners meet the financial and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that solve business needs.
  • Provide project management support for ongoing projects administered by the Strategic Projects team
  • Create advanced analytics and models to develop and communicate business alternatives and suggested actions.

Qualifications:

  • Instinctual critical thinking and a strong business and strategic acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to both work in the trenches while also understanding the bigger picture
  • Demonstrated history of increasing responsibility and impact
  • Proven ability to multi-task; must be able to juggle multiple priorities while meeting aggressive project deadlines
  • Expert in MS Excel; PowerPoint fluency a big plus
  • Experience or interest in eCommerce, retail, or related industries a plus
  • SQL experience a plus
  • Fast-learner, ability to think on your feet, self-starter and team player

 

Work Experience and Education Guidelines

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related is required (exceptions made only for those with strong consulting or investment banking experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years in an analytical role (Consulting, Banking, FP&A, Operational Analytics, Business Planning experience strongly preferred)
