We are looking to hire an organized, highly motivated Program Manager to support the Strategic Program & Project Execution (SPPE) efforts across the organization. This individual will be responsible for leading the execution and delivery of large programs consisting of multiple projects. The Program Manager will coordinate the work of the project team, create, and maintain schedules for required deliverables within a program, track program interdependencies, maintain and present status of the program, track, and address risks/issues at the program level, among other duties.
This position is highly cross-functional in nature and will involve significant senior-level stakeholder management. It requires the ability to effectively communicate with executive management on program status, dependencies, risks and mitigation efforts. You will play a critical role in establishing best practices to support cross-functional program delivery and will be a key contributor to process improvement implementations in relation to project management capabilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with project sponsor and cross-functional teams, to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, project plan, budget, and timing for cross-functional, enterprise-wide programs and projects.
- Lead and inspire cross functional teams to achieve successful execution of company programs, managing and communicating the vision, purpose, and guiding principles as determined by the ET.
- Provide regular updates to project teams, leadership, and executive team on status, risks, and accomplishments.
- Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Work cross-functionally to track and manage dependencies within program to ensure on-time delivery.
- Analyze program risks and develop risk mitigation plans to ensure stable execution, while maintaining sight of dependencies and end-state deliverables.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement and approval by establishing clear project-specific approval process, decision tracking, and cadenced demos and updates.
- Partner with stakeholders on change management and adoption of improved processes, conducting post-mortems at beneficial stages of the project delivery.
- Key contributor to building and enhancing our program management frameworks and best practices to facilitate transparent status tracking and efficient execution.
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of experience managing medium-to-large projects and programs in a project management function.
- Experience in executing enterprise-wide initiatives. Able to define project plans, coordinate resources, manage all project activities, and develop processes associated with program rollout.
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and project performance evaluation processes.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams is a plus; should be comfortable working with technical teams
- Experience monitoring and managing vendor performance.
- Relentlessly focused on incremental delivery, which is a staple of CarGurus culture.
- Comfortable exercising judgement and using analytical skills in ambiguous situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM software.
- Proven experience managing a team.
