The Marketing Program Manager will be responsible for project managing all the steps of getting excellent and high-quality content produced, packaged, and published via our creative services team in order to help drive our strategy and market position. As our growth accelerates, SmartBear is looking for content from multiple sources: the experts we have within the company, our communities of users and customers, and an ongoing cadence of coverage from the analysts and influencers who focus on our industry.
As the ideal candidate, you will focus on coordinating (reviewing, grooming, planning, and prioritizing) requests between the Marketing teams that ideate, design, and bring product information (i.e. graphics, animations, datasheets, analyst briefings etc.) and thought leadership (eBooks, blogs, white papers, podcasts, etc.). You will ensure every deliverable is ready for our customers and communities in a timely manner with an exceptional level of quality. The Marketing Program Manager will balance creative needs, brand alignment, and business priorities to ensure content output is efficient, relevant, and influential.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing Programs, this role will track and manage creative requests for marketing campaigns as well as operationalize Product Marketing’s analyst and influencer relations program. The Marketing Program Manager will work closely with SVP of Product Marketing, Art Director, and Lead Copy Writer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within our agile practices, managing activities and requests in two-week sprints with transparency and a high degree of organization.
- Ensure our repeatable processes for content requests are followed and scaled as we grow Marketing and other sources of content.
- Enact a continuous improvement mindset, creating workflow optimization where needed.
- Partner with Product Marketing to lead and document ceremonies that translate content and market strategy into executable deliverables with timelines.
- Help create a new content “guild” partnering with Product Marketing to take in new content creators from across our organization.
- Review, groom, and plan internal/external requests for the Brand and Creative team against content strategy and business priorities while allowing time for ad hoc content tasks, projects, etc.
- Partner with the Art Director and Lead Copy Writer to monitor and report out on Brand and Creative staffing allocation, making recommendations on how to optimize creative resources and processes.
- Coordinate with Product Marketing to fulfill analyst requests for information with a goal to secure positive research inclusion for SmartBear and its products.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and internal subject matter experts to fulfill analyst requests for information.
- Arrange analyst consulting engagements including internal presentations, agenda, and logistics, maintaining a centralized calendar to communicate activities internally.
- Manage analyst outreach activities with outside PR firm, including securing analyst quotes for press releases.
- Track analyst activities to measure program effectiveness against goals.
Professional Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of general marketing program management experience in a related industry
- 2 or more years of working with creative, corporate communications, and or product marketing teams
- BA and or BS in Communications, Marketing, or a technology related discipline

- Demonstrated project and program managing skills that use methodologies (i.e. Agile, Kanban, Waterfall) to structure and resource multiple projects effectively between and among teams, groups, etc.
- Strong relationship management skills, including internal and external collaboration, consulting, and influence.
- Experience in using critical thinking paired with a solutions-oriented tenacity to optimize processes and or shorten project timelines.
- Demonstrated history of uncovering and fixing inefficiencies and adapting to a fast-growing environment.
It’s advantageous if you have…
- Strong knowledge of creative content production workflows (concepting to delivery of digital/print collateral, as well as social media).
- An understanding of software development analyst market research report cycles and processes.
