Systems Innovation is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to the creation of systems that drive radical change in farming, data, technology, and biology.
The Terraton Experiment will be conducted across tens of thousands of farms for over a decade. The goal: to quantify farming practices that maximize the amount of soil carbon and the rate that it accumulates, and to tailor them by region, crop, and soil type.
Responsibilities
- Build a successful team for Terraton Experiment; become the “go to” person to get things done in the Terraton Exp.
- Hire and manage the team to execute on important Terraton Experiment initiatives
- Manage cross-Indigo team for Terraton Experiment
- Organize structure of teams for field and lab portions of Terraton Exp
- Drive and build out processes to manage field experiment & interview staff & lab experiments
- Working with Terraton Experiment stakeholders, establish operational/logistical plans for Terraton Experiment fields
- Develop strategy to streamline sample labeling/data collection
- Own the implementation process for Terraton Exp. as it rolls out

Qualifications
- Science MS (or demonstrated ability to grasp science concepts quickly and weave them into processes) required
- Experience scaling processes and/or organizations required
- Background or strong familiarity in experimental design & academic publishing required
- Experience writing & managing large grants or contracts required
- Experience managing cross functional teams (with different focuses) required
- Experience with academic study/environmental process preferred
- Field and/or lab experience preferred
- Based in Boston, willing to travel 10-15% of the time
