Vicarious Surgical is looking for an effective and dynamic Hardware Project Manager to lead the coordination and successful completion of multiple complex hardware engineering projects. The Hardware Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects/products on-time, on-budget and that meet or exceed defined market needs. She/he will be an advocate for the teams while ensuring they adhere to Vicarious Surgical’s quality procedures that govern development in a regulated environment.

 

You will work closely with our cross-functional engineering teams managing key projects as we work towards bringing our product to market. As the sole Project Manager across multiple projects you will have to set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress of project utilizing a modified-agile methodology. You will also prepare reports for upper management regarding status of all projects.

 

Most importantly, you will have to coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. The successful candidate will communicate efficiently, lead with enthusiasm, and understand the importance of being flexible all while maintaining a timeline.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Track progress of said projects.
  • Work with the Product team to help define/refine customer/market requirements.
  • Lead design and business phase gate reviews of projects.
  • Escalate risks, issues and concerns to appropriate functional leadership.
  • Report project status to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Complete and manage project gate model outlining scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget and timeline.
  • Complete lessons-learned analysis at the end of each project cycle.
  • Develop best practices for project management.
  • Identify and adjust resource loading Identify opportunities to improve.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved.

 

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated in past projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative solutions to solving project related issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project.
  • Strong leadership skills to keep the team motivated and on schedule.
  • Solid analytical skills to solve problems that come up during a typical day.
