Toast is looking for an experienced Hardware Engineering Program Manager to join our fast growing hardware product development team. This person will be responsible for navigating all stages of the hardware product life cycle, from design and development to roll out and continued support of all Toast hardware products. The ideal candidate will have hands on technical experience with hardware development (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering related products), a deep understanding of project management methodologies and the ability to coordinate complex, technical efforts across a wide range of internal teams. Prior experience with developing Android devices is preferred.

 As a Hardware Engineering Program Manager, you will:

  • Work with product management to form and socialize project requirements

  • Serve as the primary interface with Software teams

  • Manage ODM and CM suppliers to create schedule and execute on all deliveries

  • Build and maintain end-to-end project/program schedules

  • Establish committed deliverables and measure team’s success against these commitments

  • Regularly report out on project/program status

  • Ensure teams are adhering to Toast standards and best practices

  • Coordinate cross team dependencies

  • Help establish and iterate on HW team process

Do you have the right ingredients?

  • 5+ years hardware development experience in a product company

  • 5+ years hardware program management experience in a product company

  • B.S. in relevant technical field, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large and complex projects

  • Strong communicator and consensus builder

  • Mandarin speaker a strong plus
