This role will report to the Director, Field Sciences, supporting the evaluation of novel products as a component of the R&D pipeline. This candidate will use their knowledge of agronomy and field sciences to oversee experimental design, implementation and analyze results. Additionally, this position will play a key role in the continual improvement of the R&D pipeline.

Responsibilities:

Establish working relationships with Indigo global field-testing network

  • Establish key partnerships across organization including project management, product management, regulatory and International business teams to enable successful harmonization of R&D field-testing practices
  • Assess information and testing gaps from Indigo field-testing partners

Gain an understanding of R&D pipeline flow and stage-gate criteria

  • Work with project management and pipeline team members to establish clear requirements of field- testing program
  • Establish time line for delivery of key guidance documents and data reports to enable product pipeline

Review existing testing plan for global R&D field trials and identify most significant gaps and opportunities for alignment

  • Understand target product profiles and timing for delivery of products globally
  • Review current best practices and historical field-testing approach
  • Propose innovative approaches to experimental design in line with product targets

Contribute to field testing planning and execution

  • Support R&D field team as well as in-country field trial managers by providing recommendations on best trialing practices
  • Work closely with field trial coordinator and QMS rep to maintain protocol document library
  • Proactively incorporate feedback from CROs and stakeholders in to testing best practices

Timely delivery of high-quality field data and experimental results to key stakeholders

  • Support field sciences team with data entry and QC using corporate data systems
  • Analysis, interpretation and clear communication of experimental results formatted to meet specific stakeholder criteria
  • Work with data sciences to support evaluation of product performance data across entire pipeline

Competencies:

  • Outstanding communication skills across multiple platforms (1:1, in groups, presenting in front of groups, email, phone, etc) both internal & external to company
  • Strong collaborative team player but comfortable working autonomously to execute on deliverables
  • Self-starter who can quickly adapt to fast-paced company goals
  • Passion for field research, data analysis and interpretation
  • Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion leveraging cross-functional support as needed
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent timelines
  • Demonstrates agility in response to new opportunities and changing objectives
  • Open minded, likes being creative and trying new methods
  • Comfortable working closely with statisticians and other scientists in evaluation of broad data sets

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in agronomy or related field OR M.S. with 10+ years experience
  • Strong agronomic management experience in at least one field crop (3+ years): rice, corn, soybean, wheat, cotton, and/or other small grains
  • Experience working internationally with ability to adjust working styles as needed
  • Demonstrated success in developing novel field experimental approaches preferred with an emphasis on environmental characterization methodology
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Proficiency with software systems and use of technology tools
    • Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

    • Spotfire (preferred)

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
