The Position: Competitive Intelligence Manager
Mendix is seeking a talented competitive intelligence professional with experience in the application development market. In this role, you will draw on your experience, technical expertise, resourcefulness, and business acumen to arm Mendix with the insights to outmaneuver our competition and capture new market opportunities. You will work closely with sales, product marketing, product management, and Mendix colleagues to help grow the company. You will lead the competitive intelligence program. Responsibilities:
- Maintain a deep understanding of competitors’ solutions, identifying strengths and weaknesses
- Analyze competitors’ corporate strategies and proactively make actionable recommendations and predictions for product management, marketing, sales, and the executive team
- Use competitor announcements, news, financial analysts reports and industry analyst reports to stay abreast of industry trends and activity and build a detailed understanding of key competitors’ strategies, activities and performance.
- Conduct sales win/loss analysis and provide sales with actionable competitive intelligence, talking points, tactics, and strategies to help win deals; respond with urgency and quality to inquiries from sales colleagues
- Create and maintain competitive sales enablement materials such as battle cards, sales scenario guides, and market analysis documents
- Cross-functional team leadership for both internal and external resources required to achieve your goals.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years of broadly relevant career experience; experience in competitive intelligence, market intelligence, strategy, sales, finance, product marketing, or product management a plus
- Experience in the application development platform, low code or no code platform markets, or other relevant enterprise software and/or SaaS markets. Hands-on application development experience is a plus.
- Experience working in a global organization is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, engineering, marketing, communications or a related field
- Excellent analytical and research skills; the ability to organize and summarize large amounts of information and draw key conclusions
- Ability to synthesize technical material and identify key insights for various audiences
- A work history that demonstrates your tenacity, persistence
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate
- Outstanding social intelligence, interviewing and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create compelling and visual content and narratives to maximize readership and adoption by the sales team
