The Annuity & Long Term Care Core Technology organization of MassMutual?s Financial Advisors (MMFA) organization seeks a Business Consultant for our business to business team.? The ideal candidate will have a background in financial services in all lines of business including retail annuities, life insurance, and long term care.

The candidate will be responsible for soliciting and documenting business requirements, understanding of technical dependencies, and helping to envision creative solutions to both business and technical challenges. Candidate must be team-oriented and possess excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that could have a short to long term focus

  • Consult on escalated support issues and root cause analysis

  • Act as external facing point of contact on escalated issues

  • Coordination with Producer Operations on MM DTCC firm management

  • Maintain the DTCC CUSIPs, Portals for LNA Access users, IFT Access users, and Attachments

  • Serve as the technical liaison between MassMutual business partners, industry vendors, and distribution partners

  • Participate in industry working groups including attending sales meetings to talk about capabilities of services and be very active on behalf of MassMutual and provide information to business stakeholders on industry wide changes that could impact business to business services

  • Work without guidance on more complex projects

  • Work very closely with both business and technical stakeholders

  • Interact with distribution directly to support new sales integration.

  • Established working relationship with the current Order Entry Vendors

  • Look for and find ways to improve the way we operate business

  • Document requirements (functional & non-functional) and create use cases

  • Analyze and decompose business rules

  • Assist other team members with understanding the business requirements

  • Operates independently on multiple project tasks

  • Participate in all phases of project testing

  • Provide project support on an as needed basis to help set direction based industry experience as well as internal system capabilities

  • Ability to flex between subject matter expertise and business analysis work; may take on project assignments outside of technology initiatives

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of Business Consulting experience

  • Strong understanding of Financial Services background (i.e. retail annuities or life insurance or long term care or workplace solutions)

  • Experience with key vendors to support new onboarding, platform maintenance, and ongoing enhancements including but not limited to DTCC or AnnuityNet or iPipeline or Firelight etc.

  • 1 year of experience with DTCC record layouts, field definitions, and file types (i.e. position files or license or compensation, etc.)

  • Ability to brainstorm and research/resolve issues from our Distribution Partners on business to business services

  • Previous experience with working with outside carriers/distributors/firms

  • Knowledge in product profile, distributor profile, forms xml, in support of the various order entry platforms

  • Knowledge of both sides of the order entry process (Distributor and Carrier)

  • Able to travel 10% ? 20% to industry meetings and vendor locations
