The Opportunity:
This key and highly visible position reports directly to the Manager, Product Consulting PMO, and will play an important role in helping grow all three lines of Rapid7 Global Services - deployment, training and assessment services – as part of the Services organization’s overriding effort to create Rapid7 Raving Fans / Customers in order to drive overall company growth.
The Associate Project Manager is responsible for managing the services delivery lifecycle from scheduling to lining up project resources, managing customer expectations, ensuring the project is executed well and then closing out the project. This role will reside on the Global Services team, but have dotted line connections to one or more Practice Managers responsible for technical resources. As a result, the ideal candidate will be able to master resource competencies, manage customer, team and management expectations and drive results by leading without direct authority. In short, this is a significant role, which presents the opportunity to impact the growth and direction of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as a clients’ project point-of-contact to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales through delivery and project closeout
Drive achievement of financial targets by scheduling and overseeing work in the project portfolio
Manage engagement fulfillment to align with timeline, budget and resource requirements
Manage resources to the appropriate mix of billable project or directed, objective-based activity
Provide project leadership, as needed, for internal and subcontractor technical resources to ensure consistency of project delivery methodology
Track customer satisfaction and initiate post-project introspection to drive continuous improvement efforts
Work with Shared Services Manager to support and continuously improve the project automation modules within our CRM
Hold Services peers and team members accountable to methodology and PSO best practices
Actively participate in execution of Services team and personal quarterly goals
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Two – five years of experience in a project management or operational role
Proven ability to manage high volume of activity effectively in a matrix resource environment – you get stuff done
You like to look at things from a lot of different angles and come up with great solutions – never settling for “the path of less resistance”
You consider Excel and PowerPoint old friends, not enemies
Experience with CRM Systems (NetSuite, a plus but not required)
Fundamental understanding of project management methodology
Strong communication skills and team-driven focus is essential as this team member will be expected to act independently, as well as collaboratively, with customers, peers, partners, and managers to ensure customer satisfaction and team goal achievement
Job Plusses:
Project Management Professional (PMP) and / or ongoing affiliation with the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Experience working in a services organization within a software company
It is not essential for candidates to have experience in the security industry but would be great if they have an appreciation of the types of solutions we provide.
