We are seeking an Agile Coach that has deep knowledge of Agile/Lean concepts and practices and “in-the-trenches” experience helping organizations and teams adopt and refine their practices to produce efficient and successful software delivery outcomes. This Agile guru will have expertise working with various Lean/Agile methods, including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, and XP. Experience working with scaled Agile frameworks, such as SAFe, is a plus.

The Agile Coach will partner with the Director of Agile Program Management to set the coaching vision for Everbridge and define a comprehensive and compelling coaching playbook. Tactically, the Coach will embed with teams to help enforce desired Agile behaviors and address various team anti-patterns by applying servant leadership techniques and influence to become a trusted and valued Agile adviser. The successful candidate will help connect Everbridge’s strategy to the execution of program initiatives by promoting foundational scrum concepts, principles, and practices that enable the teams to produce efficient and effective outcomes that can be measured and reported on using appropriate tracking metrics (e.g., burndowns, burnups, cycle time, throughput, time to value, team assessments, etc.).

Job Duties:

  • Reimagine the Agile Coaching function at Everbridge by developing a coaching vision and playbook
  • Develop metrics that help evaluate the effectiveness of coaching engagements
  • Be a coaching thought leader by researching, publishing, and presenting Agile/Lean guidance to teams regularly
  • Embed with one or more Agile teams concurrently to help them apply Agile/Lean concepts and practices
  • Help manage and administer Agile program management tools, including Jira, AgileCraft and Miro (Real Time Board)

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Agile coach
  • Industry certification reflecting Agile/Lean competencies (e.g., SPC, CRTE, ICP-ACC or CEC, CSM)
  • Self-aware, confident yet humble team player who embodies the concept of servant leadership
  • Interest in developing a long term career within the Agile community
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed, approximately 4-6 times per year
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related discipline with relevant work experience
