We are looking for a process-driven professional to become the VP of Quality. As a key member of the TempAlert team you’ll oversee building upon existing quality practices as well as expanding these practices into other areas of the organization. This role will also be responsible for quality in manufacturing and operations.

As the VP of Quality you will be setting the vision, strategy, and tactics needed to integrate a set of best-in-class quality processes and systems to continue to drive product and service performance and reliability. You will also be responsible for optimizing our manufacturer to respond to the changing demands of the business.

Our incoming VP of Quality will bring a proven track record of overseeing and implementing successful quality initiatives that have had significant impact. We are looking for someone who has a unique blend of leadership and vision with strong operational, project management, and communication skills. 

Core Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field or area of study deemed acceptable by the hiring team, or appropriate years of direct experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years quality engineering experience in related electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including pareto charts, trend analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process mapping.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using DMAIC Six Sigma and Lean Principles - Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience developing work instructions, control plans, specifications and relative QMS procedures.
  • Broad understanding of ISO standards.
  • Understanding and facilitation of APQP events in the New Product Introduction process cycle.
  • Proven management skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals capable of achieving aggressive business goals and objectives.
  • Self-motivated and self-managed.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional team coordination skills
  • Strong background in problem solving in a dynamic, customer oriented company
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a multi-national Engineering and operational environment 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills driven by attention to detail

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU'LL:

  • Gain a solid understanding of our different product lines and customers.
  • Review our existing quality processes and begin to identify and prioritize initiatives.
  • Evaluate the current manufacturers as well as fulfillment vendors and acquire a deep understanding of manufacturing inventory flow.
  • Create your first draft of a quality dashboard that will be used to track Quality and effectiveness.

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU'LL:

  • Begin work on the prioritized efforts for quality.
  • Partner with Engineering Development to create, control and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Begin scoping certification processes such as ISO 9001.
  • Define key operations performance and service-level metrics – compile, report and analyze defect data from both manufacturing processes and field performance to drive Quality Improvement Strategies and Supply Chain to achieve exceptional product quality.

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU'LL:

  • Lead the root cause analysis and corrective / preventative action process utilizing problem-solving tools within an 8D methodology.
  • Provide clear and concise status updates and assist the leadership team with managing project risks.
  • Bring leadership, vision and creativity to ensure best practices, process, measurement and forecasting to achieve revenue goals.

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU'LL:

  • Establish test process and manufacturing documentation in support of new product launch.
  • Establish, maintain and optimize an effective quality management system.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are available to enable the facility to achieve quality goals and objectives.
