The Role

The Vice President of Product will lead a team of Product Managers in developing SaaS solutions for a currently underserved market in Clinical Trials. The doctors, nurses, and staff that administer studies on behalf of pharmaceutical and device developers have long relied on technologies that were not created with their unique needs in mind. Our team aims to change that and is creating a suite of products with the needs of these users at the forefront. We are a new and important part of Veeva’s effort to improve the drug development process, bringing effective therapies to patients quickly and safely. 

You will be stepping in to lead an existing team with several thousand active customers. Your goals will be to ensure the success of our current customers and your team, to support the aggressive growth of our customer base through the extension of our product line, and to support the efforts of other Veeva product teams that rely on our core solution to achieve their business goals.

What You’ll Do

• Be a product evangelist. Become a product subject matter expert. Advocate for the Site Solutions team internally and with our customers.
• Be an owner: set the product vision, cultivate the roadmap, and collaborate closely with the rest of the teams to execute.
• Be a leader: recruit, coach, mentor, and manage a growing team of Product Managers, technical writers, and designers. Lead the team in defining the roadmap and designs.
• Be a partner: Ensure alignment with the Site Solutions team Market Owners and VP of Engineering on product strategy, releases, and priorities based on market feedback.
• Be a great teammate: coordinate with the Veeva product teams that rely on us to ensure we have a cohesive strategy and execute accordingly across our suite of Clinical Network solutions. Support the other Site Solutions teams in their efforts when they need it – sales, site success, and strategy.
• Be hands-on: lead the team by example, spending time designing features and working directly with engineering teams to turn them into working software.

Requirements

• 10+ years in software product management, experience working in a regulated industry, or comparable consulting experience
• 4+ years of team leadership
• Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar technical field or equivalent work experience
• Experience hiring product managers, designers, and technical writers at scale
• Experience designing industry-specific SaaS products
• Ability to work and manage across a geographically diverse team and customer base
• You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Veeva will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of clinical trials and the processes and technologies used by sites
• Understanding of the Federal Regulations governing the use of technology in clinical trials
• Based in the Eastern or Central time zones with the ability to travel periodically to Veeva and customer sites (post-COVID)
