Technical Product Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our team in Boston, MA. As a Technical Product Manager focusing on Cloud Engineering at Chewy, you’ll work to ensure that Chewy’s cloud activities are undertaken in an efficient manner which meets internal customer needs. Working with customers across the public and private cloud platforms, you’ll capture and analyze their needs and participate in the prioritization of these requirements, providing your technical peers and management the information necessary to appropriately build and manage associated platforms, projects, and processes.
What you'll do:
- Support the implementation and enhancement of Chewy’s Cloud Engineering activities
- Work with Cloud Engineering’s internal customers to ensure that their needs are identified, planned for, and met through the creation of themes/epics/stories, technical specifications, and well-defined success criteria
- Work with engineering and development teams to resolve bottlenecks to help deliver systems and functionality which meet customer needs
- Analyze customer needs across teams and projects, identifying commonalities and working with engineers to build reference architectures which meet these common needs and use cases
- Coordinate activities across different organizational functions for activities undertaken by Cloud Engineering
- Review and report on progress for initiatives/projects, managing project risks - including the development of contingency plans
- Own the final system deliverables and the overall roadmap for your area of responsibility
- Manage the content for the Cloud Engineering knowledge hub and own the dissemination of information to key stakeholders via newsletters and ad-hoc training and demos
- Manage relationships with vendors, oversee all vendor engagements (including day-to-day support, service tickets and ad-hoc consulting services) for your area of responsibility.
- Position may require some travel
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 3 years of product management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Operations Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Technically savvy, including knowledge of public and private cloud, software development and system integration
- Highly motivated to research and self-study to keep technical and financial skills relevant in a highly complex environment
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design
- Ability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross functional and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
