Evolv is a venture backed startup developing technology to detect and prevent active shooters and terrorists from attacking the places where we expect to be safe. Together with our investors – Bill Gates, General Catalyst Partners, Data Collective, and Lux Capital – we are re-defining the physical security industry. We’re currently focused on detecting concealed threats such as firearms and explosives and are in the process of developing the next generation of our technology. Evolv’s technology is being used to seamlessly screen millions of people around the globe in stadiums, entertainment venues, performing arts centers, train stations, airports, office buildings and hotels.

What we seek

We are looking for a technical product manager to play a leading role in defining and designing products that will help prevent active shooter and terrorist scenarios. We seek someone with passion for solving this problem who will partner with Evolv’s research team, engineering, sales, marketing, and our customers to accomplish the following:

• Serve as product champion, providing insight and direction during complex project development phases.
• Own the entire product development lifecycle. 
• Understand the market needs and product requirements. 
• Ensure we develop a solution that works for a breadth of users. 
• Ensure that the right feature set is defined and developed, and our end-product is priced and packaged correctly.
• Develop a go-to-market plan, working with all Evolv functions to execute, and will also be responsible for analyzing and managing potential partner relationships. 
• Work with our management team to make sure Evolv delivers a high-quality, leading edge product that solves one of the most difficult challenges of our time. 

What you bring

You possess a unique blend of big picture vision, technical savvy, and industry experience. You have at least five years of experience working as a product manager in the video analytics, biometrics, integration, or physical security arenas, working with engineering teams and driving whole-product strategy. You have strong customer relationship skills, which enable you to understand customers’ needs and objectives and translate them into product features and requirements for solving complex business problems. You have a strong technical background, with the ability to discuss technical issues and identify solutions that meet product requirements. You have exceptionally strong analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making. In addition, you can demonstrate the following:

• Strong track record of successfully bringing technical products to market
• Proficiency in translating technical concepts to business-oriented audiences and vice versa
• Unwavering customer and end user empathy
• Demonstrated ability to apply experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• An infectious enthusiasm for the product, influencing the energy and pace around it
• Active learning mentality: understanding implications of new information for both current and future problems and decisions, embracing change, and understanding new concepts.
• Four-year degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field, or equivalent combination of qualification and experience 
• Existing relationships with security systems integrators, channel partners and customers is a plus
