About the role: 

This role is designed for an experienced Product Manager with a proven track record of building experiences in 5-star digital products from concept through multiple iterations past launch. This role will be focused on a completely new (stealth) product for Embark that will be creating a whole new category of testing in the animal space. 



This individual will need to possess the skills to work on short-term execution, while strategically planning a longer-term roadmap to inform the product build for this first of its kind new product. They will have the opportunity for high visibility in the organization, collaborate deeply across functions, and drive the complex decision-making process surrounding all aspects of this new product area, from development to go-to-market strategy. 



The ideal candidate is data driven, scientifically curious, and has the ability to work collaboratively across functions. This person will be the voice for their product area, driving and managing key activities to ensure their products and Embark’s success. 



What you’ll do:


  • Develop, advocate and champion your product roadmap for this new product area, informed by an understanding of customer and market needs;
  • Translate your product plan into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria;
  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder discussions with key groups including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Design, and Operations to create a winning go to market plan, gain internal alignment on product roadmap development and ensure first-class execution; 
  • Inform the go to market strategy, create and deploy effective documentation to guide product positioning for internal stakeholders to support the go to market plan;
  • Iterate on existing and create new product development processes that lead to high-velocity, high-impact solutions to problems;
  • Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to provide prioritized solutions to complex problems;
  • Consistently communicate impact across the organization of your product area; 
  • This role is based in Boston, MA and will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week in the future

What experience we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience. Consumer product experience is preferred. 
  • Experience going from 0 to 1 with a new product, including all phases of product development - including user research, design, prototyping, defining MVPs, and quick iteration to find market fit
  • Creative thinking without ego, leveraging the collective power of the team to get to the best possible ideas & solutions
  • Internal bias towards action - make tough decisions when needed, and being open to learning and course correcting
  • Excellent communication skills to evangelize product vision and to deliver insights and results to stakeholders
