The mission of the Flights Marketplace Experience team is to surface the best deals on flights to Hopper customers, provide a frictionless booking experience, and help the customer understand how much they’ve saved. We are responsible for the end-to-end consumer flight booking journey - including merchandising, shopping and purchase. 

We are seeking a rockstar Product Lead to build innovative new solutions around ancillary products like Seats, Bags, and paid Customer Support. We’re seeking a scrappy, creative, business-minded Product Manager to deliver products that add value to our customers and airline partners plus meet Hopper’s unit economics targets.

The ideal Product Lead will have a track record of success at B2C tech companies and proven ability to process lots of data to find signals, make decisions, and pitch innovative solutions and ideas. At Hopper, we value customer obsession over all else; The right Product Lead will have a keen eye for Customer behavior, Business Value, and be able to test new ideas with scrappy experiments.

In this role, you will

  • Manage a product roadmap for a set of features from inception through implementation; collect requirements, establish key performance metrics, craft the user experience, and drive execution
  • Create business cases to prioritize features and manage the P&L on existing capabilities
  • Run scrappy experiments to test product market fit on new product ideas and concepts. 
  • Drive A/B Testing and experimentation of new features and dive deep with Data Analysts to analyze the impact
  • Partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, and UX Designers to scale ancillary products to millions of users. 
  • Understand and explain complex technical issues, discern impact, and communicate them to maximize clarity and drive resolution
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering
  • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term revenue forecasts and product performance reports

The perfect candidate has

  • A passion for Hopper’s mission to build the most customer centric travel marketplace on Earth 
  • At least 5 years working in a product management role with an online consumer brand with P&L responsibility. 
  • Strong eye for UX Design and effective design patterns on Mobile apps
  • Technical depth to enable productive collaboration with world-class engineers and data scientists
  • Highly proficient analytical abilities to draw accurate conclusions from data and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Obsessive focus on the details in planning, evaluating, and building products
  • Strong ability to grasp, manage, and articulate complex systems
  • A track record of evaluating product initiatives via both qualitative logic and quantitative assessment
  • Excellent writing skills to construct compelling business cases both in-person and in-writing
  • No ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company

Today, Hopper is best known as a travel app. We're going to do about $1B in sales this year and weathered the COVID storm better than anyone expected. We just raised $170M from Goldman Sachs and Capital One, and inked a deal to be the exclusive travel provider for Capital One Travel.

We owe our success, in large part, to a proprietary suite of data-driven and risk-based financial services that we have developed that complement a customer's trip-purchasing experience. One example is Price Freeze, where our customers are able to purchase a financial option in the app to lock in any price that they see, on any item, for as short as 1 hour or as long as 21 days with Hopper taking the risk on the other side of the trade.

Now we're laying the groundwork for continued expansion in 2021 by adding great people to our team who can help us compete with the travel giants.
