Simply Business is more than our name. It's how we approach insurance: Make it clear. Make it simple. Make it affordable. By combining exceptional talent, technology, data, and knowledge, Simply Business is the go-to online insurance brokerage that protects small businesses and the entrepreneurs who work hard to build them.

We want team members who have the drive to challenge boundaries. If you’re smart and passionate about delivering brilliant customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

Do you want to be at the front line of transforming an industry? Would you like working with thousands of small businesses? Do you want to practice your craft in one of the fastest growth insuretechs in the UK & US? Then join our team. Our mission is "Insurance redefined - simpler, smarter and always on the side of small business." We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager who can help us realize that dream by leading the team that is at the heart of our quoting experience.

You will be a critical player in shaping how we deliver choice, value, and simplicity online to thousands of small businesses through the expansion of our quoting capabilities. You will be responsible for creating the product vision and an actionable plan to lead your team to clear, specific learnings and outcomes.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will:

  • Lead a cross-functional team through the full lifecycle of product development, from ideation to delivery to measuring success
  • Drive the evolution of our key systems architecture to be more flexible and component-based
  • Understand how existing and new insurance products are built and what is required from Simply Business to sell and maintain those products
  • Partner closely with cross-functional business teams to test, deliver, and measure your solutions
  • Be a systems thinker who is strong in using continuous discovery experimentation to understand the needs of your customers
  • Challenge the existing approaches and ideas of others, as well as your own
  • Formulate the roadmap for your area, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to keep them abreast of the latest learnings and results
  • Rapidly build knowledge of your domain and assess opportunities
  • Define KPIs to measure the success of your approach and your product
  • Manage relationships with any 3rd parties related to your product
  • Champion Build Measure Learn, creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management discipline, especially in discovery methodologies
  • Suggest opportunities to improve Simply Business based on new technologies, competitors/like-minded businesses, future thinking, and more
  • Work closely with Tech lead and team to plan sprints, releases and coordinate across dependent products and teams
  • Prioritise and set the team direction, creating a sense of urgency and momentum
  • Break down your deliverables into smaller value chunks and iterate through delivery, releasing value early wherever possible
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to launch features (both externally and internally)

What we are looking for:

  • Experience developing and launching complex technical products, including APIs
  • Excellent technical understanding – we don’t expect you to code, but you understand how your products are technically architected and have an understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices
  • Good experience gathering and analysing customer pains/needs to implement commercially successful solutions
  • Influencing stakeholders with different objectives to align on a common solution
  • Demonstrable ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of your product’s domain
  • A love of collaboration and experience in leading varied groups to swift decisions
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Experience working with Agile projects
  • Strong bias to action over deliberation

If you want to surround yourself in a culture of respect, learning, collaboration, and experimentation, apply now.

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?

More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.

We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.

We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.

If you’re wondering what it might be like for you at Simply Business, our Talent Acquisition is happy to answer any questions. In fact for them, it’s perfectly normal.

Most of our interviews will still take place over Zoom (however, depending on the role, there may be the opportunity/expectation to meet members of the team in-person). If it looks like you could be a good fit for the role, we’ll ask you to interview on Zoom – you’ll need WiFi and a laptop, or a 4G-enabled smartphone. If you don’t have access to either of these, or you need support with your application, get in touch with us at [email protected]. Similarly, please email us with any questions or if you want to pause your application for a bit – we’ll be happy to keep you updated on future opportunities like the one above.
