Senior Specialist, Promotional Merchandising

The Opportunity:
In this role as a Senior Merchandising Specialist, you will be responsible for driving the Promotions strategy forward to deliver an excellent customer experience, while increasing profitability across multiple high-growth sales lanes.
Through a combination of strategic thinking, industry acumen, data analytics, and a deep understanding of our customers' needs and interests, you will optimize the on-site promotional space to drive margin growth, while maximizing the ecommerce merchant distribution as it expands. Fueled by a deep passion for curation, you will determine what our offering should look like, build the plan and execute your roadmap across the North American market. You will work cross-functionally with Category Management, Creative Leads, and Marketing teams to deliver on your plan, playing a critical role in the development of our ecommerce business.

Main duties & responsibilities:
- Ideate and execute on a cross-category promotional strategy that incorporates both short-term flash-style events and seasonal collections to excite our customers and drive increased redemptions volume at healthy profit margins as the site development enhancements evolve
- Drive engagement within our curated space which will result in increased redemptions, conversion and margin in the North American market
- Research latest trends & advise on catalog expansion, including the identification of assortment gaps and identify category opportunities to increase the offering in all markets established and emerging
- Ensure that our ecommerce offering is relevant to today's marketplace with the aim of maintaining Workhuman as the most innovative and successful in our industry
- Continue to infuse analytics into our promotional and merchandising processes and both strategic and day-to-day decisions, utilizing a combination of internal purchase and site metrics, market and seasonal trends, and competitive analyses
- Serve as internal expert on our offering, industry trends, and ways to stay ahead of the competition.
- Prepare and report quarterly on gains and opportunities
- Work with our creative team to deliver a compelling and aspirational experience for our users
Required skills and experience:
- 3-5 years in e-commerce, retail merchandising or business setting with related experience
- Excellent brand/trend knowledge of eCommerce & technology
- A passion for curation and the hand selection of merchandise to tell a promotional product story
- Strong desire to produce and execute against an array of initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge and use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Professional, bright, and customer-focused
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work on one's own initiative
- Ability to demonstrate a creative approach when problem solving
- Obsessive attention to detail
- Demonstrated capacity for understanding short term and long-term strategy
