Senior Product Owner
As a member of the Production team, you will be heavily involved in new and existing feature development, and will have a material impact on what DraftKings is today and becomes tomorrow. While helping to lead a talented team of software engineers, you will serve as a liaison between the Product, Engineering, or other external and internal groups to deliver quality features on-time, and maintain the health of the existing DraftKings products and platforms. The successful candidate will also leverage their skills and experience to coordinate cross-functional projects and be the “glue” that connects various teams and leads to successful delivery of larger features.
- Acts as the backlog representative, and as one of the leaders, for one or more small Agile development teams
- Facilitates breaking down product requirements into sagas, epics, stories, and tasks
- Owns the prioritization and sequencing of the backlog to align with roadmaps and company strategy
- Keeps the backlog organized, manageable, and actionable
- Drives value from team meetings, ceremonies, and cadence
- Provides transparency on results and planning through data driven metrics and accurate bi-weekly reporting
- Acts as an advocate for the team and general health of their respective vertical
- Participates in testing and UATs and ensures relevant stakeholders do the same
- Works cross-functionally with other Product Owners and groups to identify dependencies, plan initiatives, and deliver on larger product goals
- Works closely with Product Managers and Technology Leads to understand the business objectives and actual results of the work
- Provides insight and often helps in the completion of the specification process
- Sets and monitors individual Objectives & Key Results that align with team, domain, and vertical
- Sets the pace and urgency for the work coming and going through their team and acts as scrum master
- Thinks creatively and analytically to unblock team members and initiative deliverables
- Balances resources, time, and scope to deliver on very high-quality standards
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience in software development required
- Experience working in an Agile environment required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Portfolio illustrating delivered product and examples of the tools and methodologies used required
- Experience in product management, project management, and scrum master roles is encouraged
- Bachelor’s Degreein computer science, social science, or engineering is a plus
- Experience in information design and user scenarios is a plus
- Experience in analytics is a plus
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is a plus
