Position Overview

NuoDB is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our product team in Cambridge. We’re looking for a talented candidate with experience in transactional SQL databases to drive the product strategy and vision for how our customers deploy, use, operate, and manage NuoDB in the cloud or on-premises.

In this role, you will collaborate with the entire organization to ensure that we successfully build, deliver, and position the best product with features needed by our customers and the market. You will:

• Meet with customers to understand how they are using NuoDB today and how they want to use NuoDB in the future.
• Interface with our sales and services teams to understand market trends and identify growth opportunities.
• Interact with the marketing team to understand market trends and competitors, helping define our market and competitive positioning.
• Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure clear prioritization and definition of stories for each Agile sprint.

The successful candidate must be technically adept, enjoy working with complex products, be able to multi-task and have the business acumen to successfully manage a complex product like NuoDB.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Define our strategy and roadmap for the world’s best distributed and scalable SQL database.
• Engage customers to understand, validate, and prioritize their requirements for NuoDB.
• Develop detailed requirements and user stories that clearly articulate the requirements for the engineering teams.
• Work closely with the engineering teams in an agile environment to prioritize, groom, and deliver features in a timely fashion.
• Ensure the documentation is clear and concise as well as write blog articles.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of Product Management experience
• Understand the differences between transactional and analytical SQL workloads with specific experience with transactional SQL databases.
• General understanding of database concepts such as data replication, backup/restore, transactions, and indexes.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Capacity to multi-task and execute in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
• Passion and a "can do" attitude with a desire to make an impact in a startup organization.

Bonus Experience:

• Cloud or SaaS experience
• Experience with other distributed systems or infrastructure products
• Experience with data security products
