Senior Product Manager- Partner
About the Job
The Sr Product Manager role is an opportunity for a smart, product-focused individual to deepen their skills as a partner-centric product manager through partner collaboration and product discovery in emerging market spaces. The Sr Product Manager will use leadership skills, technical knowledge, customer analysis, business acumen, and inputs from a cross-functional team to support a range of activities, from learning customer needs, assessing competitive and potential offerings, identifying margin enhancing and hard to copy solutions, and bringing those solutions to market with the right partners. This individual will interface regularly with engineering, sales, product marketing, the integrated marketing functions, and business leadership to define and launch 3Play Media products and features.
This Sr PM will work directly with the 3Play commercial channel and partner lead, the development team, and other product managers as needed to prioritize, build, and deliver partner dependent solutions strategically selected as part of a build/buy/partner assessment. This Sr PM will own technical aspects of partner assessment, selection, and partner engagement - including relationship cultivation, partner-related project management., and overall partner product lifecycle management.
The right candidate is a self-motivated individual, who can easily function in a high demand, performance-driven environment. They must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel. This professional must demonstrate strong leadership skills and be able to gain credibility with team members and senior management. This role reports to the Vice President of Product.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Sr Product Manager will represent current and future 3Play customers and partners inside the organization and represent 3Play in the market.
- Lead 3Play’s partner dependent product solutions and related focus areas
- Write clear, inspirational, context-rich and actionable user stories that get engineers excited to write code
- Manage the product backlog and prioritize user stories into sprints
- Work closely with engineering to understand and translate technical concepts into actionable requirements and stories
- Drive a customer and market-centric product approach within the organization, ensuring that priorities and roadmap are centered around customer needs
- Drive market, customer and partner research activities, including Voice of Customer
- Collaborate with 3Play Channel Lead and product marketing to support and define market opportunity assessments
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant partner landscape and related customer needs and partnership opportunities
- Oversee functional integration of partners, project manage new and ongoing partner projects
- Oversee ongoing functioning of partnerships with 3Play Commercial Channel Lead and project manage partner integration opportunities across 3Play product portfolios
Position Requirements
This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant tasks are completed. This individual must be a self-starter, able to work autonomously, "roll up the sleeves", natural problem solver, collaborative, and not fazed by adversity or ambiguity. Additional personal and professional attributes include:
- Independent approach to solving multiple challenging technical problems in parallel
- Outstanding project management skills
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in an Agile / Scrum environment
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Sales, Product Marketing, Marketing, Support
- Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and leading product launches
- Strategic thinker, creative problem solver and strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate product messaging and influence audiences such as sales, customers, prospects, partners, industry analysts and trade press
- Minimum of 3-5 years product management experience
- B2B applications experience required; video and/or live streaming preferred
- BA/BS in CS, CIS
- MS or MBA preferred
