As an R&D Product Manager, you are responsible for driving technology that enables Indigo to bring microbial strains to market in a fast and efficient manner. In this highly collaborative and cross-functional role, you will act as the product owner to achieve alignment across teams and drive the product roadmap. You will be responsible for the vision and implementation of multiple R&D technology products and features, starting from ideation and requirement gathering and lasting through user adoption and result analysis. This high-impact role places you at the heart of all R&D at Indigo, allowing you to provide leverage for future microbial innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate key stakeholders across functional teams (R&D, Research Engineering, Product, Data Management, Data Platform Engineering, Data Sciences, etc.)
  • Develop strong understanding of existing issues with software tools and develop and prioritize plans to correct issues
  • Finalize 2019 roadmap for R&D technology projects and achieve buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Build new process of reporting releases back to stakeholders and training users on new features
  • Increase speed to market of our microbial strains

Competencies:

  • Understanding of common bioinformatics tools and workflows strongly preferred
  • Skilled at explaining technological and software issues to laboratory scientists
  • Excels at driving roadmaps and understanding time/resources needed to meet project requirements
  • Passionate advocate for user needs
  • Prioritizes ruthlessly and communicates trade-offs
  • Takes initiative
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and challenging company goals
  • Able to work independently and drive to solutions with minimal direction
  • Understands and embodies Indigo’s mission and core values

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Product Management experience
  • Experience working with science, R&D, or data science teams
    •  Experience working with biological datasets required
    •  Experience working at a biotech company, research institution, or pharma company preferred
  • Proven experience driving projects that bridge multiple teams (Tech, R&D, Data Sciences, etc.) required
  • Experience working in an agile environment, collaborating directly with engineers (on a fast release cycle) required

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
