The Product Owner will serve at the primary point of accountability between Global Digital Services and our IT Developer Team customers for hybrid (on premises and cloud-based) database platforms. Defines and prioritizes the product backlog while representing our IT customers to the agile platform teams. Works with our IT Partners and squads to deliver products and services that achieve IT Developer Team objectives and improve customer satisfaction. In partnership with the platform Solutions Engineers and Architect, is responsible for articulating and translating the overall technical vision into strategy and tactics for a specific product(s), capability and/or service(s). Accountable for outcomes and key KPI's tied directly to the platform's objectives and customer satisfaction.

Please Note: This is a Range Job Posting for which consideration will be provided to candidates who may qualify for either a Product Owner II or a Product Owner III position, depending on experience level.

  • In partnership with the Product Solutions Engineer, Architect, and the other Data Platforms Product Owners, is responsible for articulating and translating the overall vision into strategy and tactics for our data platforms capabilities which may include provisioning, modernization, lifecycle, data protection & resiliency, security & compliance, monitoring, cost, and integrations. Communicate the product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members.
  • Owns and maintains the product backlog and is accountable for its contents and prioritization. Accountable for clear, actionable user stories.
  • With the squad/team, collaboratively responsible for developing and achieving product level key performance indicators (KPI's) and manages hybrid cloud data platform capabilities with a medium-high degree of strategy, KPI, scope, and complexity.
  • Sets priorities and actively participates in squad/team quarterly planning. Collaborates with more senior Product Owners to set priorities for portfolio quarterly planning.
  • Responsible for hybrid cloud data platform capabilities, products and services through ownership of the data platforms backlogs (prioritization and refinement)
  • Works day to day with the scrum teams clarifying technical requirements, partnering with the scrum master to remove roadblocks, and constantly communicating and gaining alignment around product and service strategy.
  • Ensures delivery of scope, partners with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear, removes barriers for team members and resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently. Acts as the 'voice of the customer'.
  • Analyzes feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential IT solutions whether hosted internally or externally (cloud).
  • Leads problem resolution as needed to ensure our IT customers receive prompt, efficient service.
  • Incorporates stakeholder input into product roadmap while effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the platform and specific market development team needs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in relevant field (Information Technology, computer science, etc.). Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in development, administration, engineering, technology and/or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid cloud database software, platforms and technologies both within our datacenter and across cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google) .
  • Working knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Agile experience in an infrastructure or application development squad .
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and practical experience in infrastructure software development aligned with the IT Platform or Service.
  • Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on technical vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions on a daily basis.
  • Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders-strong leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
