Root Robotics is creating robots, apps, and curricula that will be this generation's way to fall in love with coding. We are the makers of Root, a wall driving, music playing, artwork drawing robot with a unique coding interface that goes from a graphical environment up to career-based languages.
Job Summary
We have an immediate opening for a high energy product manager that is fueled by customer insights that drive strategic business direction. This is a role with responsibilities that cover the strategic direction for the entire product life cycle of Root, from a coder’s first out-of-box experience through their ongoing learning goals. This position will have a direct impact on the success of Root. We are looking for a high energy, experienced product manager that is a relentless problem solver and has a proven track record of successful product launches.
Primary Responsibilities
- Key person for defining the vision and strategy of new hardware products and business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market positioning, and product strategy.
- Create product and launch plans to meet strategic business objectives.
- Build, maintain and leverage relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Drive the voice of the customer into every aspect of development.
- Identify, prioritize, roadmap and realize unique product opportunities.
- Collaborate, align, and support a multi-disciplinary team of marketers, designers, engineers, and educators.
Qualifications and Skills
- You have spent at least five years being awesome product manager for hardware
- You are comfortable with an iterative and rapid-prototyping design process
- You are a master at people, project, and program management
- You are skilled at identifying consumer insights through observation and data collection
- You have excellent collaboration skills
- You are an excellent writer, spreadsheet master, and business plan creator
- You have the ability to work independently in a fast paced startup environment
- You are a generalist with a diverse background that lets you tackle many deep areas.
- Ideally you know - or have learned to code - not needed for role but it would make you stand out in the application
