Product Manager (P3)

VMWare Carbon Black is looking for a new Product Manager in our Carbon Black Cloud team. As part of the Cloud Workload Protection group, you will work with the Product Management team to define new customer oriented features and products to help us dominate the Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) market.  This market encompasses protecting virtual workloads on vSphere (including VCF and VMC!), protecting container based workloads on Kubernetes, and public cloud security.

You will work closely with senior product management, engineering leadership, product marketing managers and user experience leads to scope, prioritize, define and deliver new products and product features.

• Work with customers, partners, and subject matter experts to research and define initiatives

• Communicate and use your vision to influence strategic priorities in our agile planning process

• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX, and scrum teams to bring your initiatives to life and into the market

• Drive go-to-market readiness for your initiative inside and outside of our business

• Use and analyze data to discover insights and drive success

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for the person with the right spark and a willingness to learn in the role. The following items are a broad look at the skills you might bring, or might be expected to learn on the job:

• General skills and background:

  • 2-3+ years of product experience as a product owner, technical product manager, team lead, architect, product marketing manager or similar role

  • A dynamic, collaborative, and transparent working style

  • A desire to work within a high performing and close-knit team

  • A real passion for establishing relationships with our customers to elicit and discover new ways to make them successful

  •  An analytical approach for effectively evaluating and executing trade-off decisions

  • Crisp and clear communication style across all mediums and with both business and technology partner groups

  • A background with Agile development methodologies

• Experience with one or more of:

  • Knowledge of Endpoint Protection or adjacent security product spaces such as SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, Network Detection & Response, etc.

  • Knowledge of workload or server security on Linux, Virtualized platforms, cloud platforms and/or containers

  • Experience in Software as a Service product development and delivery

  • Cybersecurity knowledge from an analyst viewpoint (SOC team member, malware reverse engineering, incident response, etc.)

  • Knowledge of VMWare products such as Workspace One, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, SecureState, VCF and/or VMC
