Director/Manager, Innovation Development

The Innovation Development function’s mission is to continually develop Indigo’s Innovation capabilities by driving:
- the innovation strategy (overall and platforms)
- masterplans for the expansion of its existing platforms
- the launch of new innovation platforms and capabilities
- the management system for the innovation function to support resource allocation, portfolio and platform investments, and the management of the interfaces to other business functions of Indigo
Responsibilities:
- Development of strategies for Indigo’s Innovation functions and related new business and technology opportunities covering all its platforms (Microbial Innovation, Geoinovation, DataInnovation, Systems Innovation, and Indigo Research Partners)
- Development and management of the technology development and platform investment pipelines and product launch pipeline plan
- Development and execution monitoring of the masterplans (including technology roadmaps, new business opportunities, and geographical footprints) for the expansion of Indigo’s innovation platforms in accordance with business priorities, innovation strategy and available resource envelopes
- Development and evaluation of the strategic and annual resource allocation (Opex, Capex) priorities for the Innovation function ensuring ROI maximization
- Initiating and driving the launch of new innovation platforms and capabilities including early operational work while working cross functionally
- Own and design entire projects including setting key milestones, managing cross functional meetings, and holding others accountable
- Lead and manage a team of direct reports

Qualifications
- Significant experience in product, strategy, or consulting roles within fast-moving, technology-focused companies or sectors
- Advanced degree (M.Sc., PhD, etc.) or technical experience demonstrating experience in overcoming the challenges of discovering, innovating and developing
- Experience in partnering with business unit owners and operators on strategy work on emerging technologies
- Previous experience within Agriculture, life sciences or software/digital technologies
- Past successes in the development of new idea/products
