The Director of Robot CORE Product Development, defines, develops, and implements the department's technical and scheduling objectives for all Robotic products globally from retail launch to end of life. You will relentlessly and successfully drive continuous high product quality and seek to deliver excellent customer experiences across our global business for SharkNinja. You have the mindset that anything is possible and possess the willingness to do whatever it takes to win.

You will work in a close partnership with our Global Hardware and Software Engineering, App Development, Quality, Marketing, NPD Product development and Customer Excellence teams to ensure flawless execution. As the CORE Director/Sr Director, your strong leadership will continuously deliver flawless product launches from, production, to retail launch, to remanufacturing and end-of-life. SharkNinja moves at a very fast pace, so your ability to lead and inspire Engineering and Customer Excellence teams to deliver 5-star consumer experiences is critical. Your passion will show in both the product reliability and in the consumer experience.

As the CORE Director, you work very closely with the global leadership team to synchronize on goals, priorities, and responsibilities across offices. You will provide daily direction and inspiration to the team through not just management, but hands-on design work as the leader of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Must represent the voice of the consumer and hold consumer care above all else.
  • Consistently deliver 5-star products and an overall high-quality consumer experience
  • Monitor all new product releases (in an increasingly diverse and complex Global roadmap), and critically monitor performance, enabling consistent sales growth from these releases
  • Critically analyze global customer feedback and engineering findings from multiple data streams and drive product improvements back into the market.
  • Consistently work with the New Product Development teams to ensure key findings are addressed in the next cycle of product development.
  • Work hand in hand with the Customer Excellence teams to translate consumer symptoms into technical issues, then managing through into consumer-facing solutions. Requires understanding of complex integrated systems, and bringing multiple SMEs together to get to the correct assumptions.
  • An unwavering resolve to deliver 5-star rated products in a challenging, yet highly rewarding, development environment
  • Build, retain, and manage an A-player team. Manage performance and talent development with clear talent development plans in place
  • Partner and give direction to the cross functional peers, including China/US engineering and Quality teams, and push for accountability. Making sure changes are implemented and validation is completed to a high standard.
  • Be nimble and flexible; adapt quickly to changing circumstances or new insights
  • Be in the details and hands on; think strategically but drive to action
  • Clearly articulate Product Solutions and Challenges to a multidisciplinary team at the executive level and translate these into highly-impactful projects
  • Set priorities and keep momentum going on a mix of projects and project timelines. Respond quickly to shifting priorities without losing sight of longer-range projects and goals
  • Challenge assumptions and think innovatively to solve complex problems creatively
  • Hold cross-functional engagement sessions and encourage “new” thinking and ways to iteratively improve
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced engineers and marketing-focused team members
  • Work with Quality teams to ensure products meet specifications/requirements throughout production and with sub-suppliers.
  • Intuition on what consumers want and what works in the marketplace
  • Work strategically to make recommendations on safety or critical issues (including Stop production)
  • Manage Re-work and re-manufacturing processes

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical/SW/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science related discipline, Master’s or Advanced Degree a plus
  • 8+ years of related experience with global market presence
  • Experience in Connected Products, as well as integrated systems and/or mobile Applications
  • Understanding of data analytics, as well as using complex metrics.
  • Experience in supporting agile development a plus (Jira/Sprints)
  • Extensive experience leading projects with consumer-focused outcomes (5 star experience)
  • Directly managed a team, as well as indirectly managed cross-functional teams
