Advertising Solutions mission is simple. Build products that drive revenue for TripAdvisor. As a Product Manager on the Advertising Solutions team, you will work with the team’s engineers, UX Designers, fellow product managers, operations, data science and sales to drive the creation of engaging consumer products that solve advertiser problems while delivering business results for TripAdvisor. We move from concept to deployment to optimizing product fast - this is a highly visible team with a strong focus on our numbers.

We are looking for a Product Manager to develop the next generation of B2B advertising and insights products which will reinforce the value of TripAdvisor advertising. You will thrive on finding answers to ambiguous and complicated questions while navigating a rapidly growing digital advertising economy. You will challenge yourself and others to build better solutions that disrupt the direction of the entire industry. Ultimately, you will be instrumental in delivering incremental advertising revenue growth for TripAdvisor.

This position resides in Needham, MA and will support global sales teams located in US, EMEA and APAC.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ability to understand the big picture – company goals and team goals – while operating at a very detailed level

  • Write detailed product specifications, establish milestones, and manage the development, testing, implementation and launches of new products against goals

  • Read/understand data, accurately measuring product performance and identifying key levers for improvement - including hands on design and analysis of relevant reports

  • Engage with external customers to identify their motivations, pain points and product opportunities opportunities. Turn this knowledge into great the right set of products and insights.

  • Live in the data, and believe the best way to democratize product decisions is querying the database for insights and building ad-hoc reports. Use data and insights to drive product feature recommendations that enhance consumers’ experiences on TripAdvisor and maximize advertising revenue

  • Perform research to understand comparable marketplace products and customer needs to serve as the foundation for TripAdvisor’s best in class ad measurement solutions

  • Develop proper control / exposed methodologies to demonstrate true ROI for advertisers

  • Manage the prioritization of new features and bug fixes

What We Seek:

  • Intermediate understanding of the digital advertising industry including; advertising economics (impressions, CPM or CPC, sell-through-rates), types of advertising (ads, content sponsorships), ad platforms (data platforms, ad servers, creative management platforms), measurement strategies (last-click-attribution, brand surveys, online to offline tracking)

  • Software development, business analytics or product management experience preferably with a media related product; 5+ years of internet product experience is preferred

  • 2+ years data-driven product optimization using analytical skills such as SQL, Tableau, or similar Business Intelligence tools. Able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and formulate action plans to support decisions

  • Experience launching new platforms, products and services is a plus

  • Familiarity with audience, advertising, and enterprise analytics tools and services such as comScore, Nielsen, DFP, Google Analytics is a plus

  • Cross-functional experience, including interacting directly with customer insights, sales, operations, market research, design, product and engineering teams

  • High attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at a time. Successfully able to meet deadlines, independently

  • Strong customer-centric communication skills. Ability to communicate to both business and technical personnel. Displays ‘grace under pressure’ ethic at all times, with both customers and peers

  • A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and tenacity while working independently. You will thrive on challenges and not be deterred by difficult situations. You will work proactively rather than reactively.

  • Comfortable with and adaptable to change. We work in an innovative fast growth environment where products and processes evolve rapidly.

  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with varied responsibilities

  • Creativity and curiosity. A creative problem solver with a deep curiosity about our business, the various sectors we service and the products we develop

  • Project management skills. Someone with responsibility to ensure that projects are completed in an appropriate and timely manner.

  • Teamwork skills essential; thrives in a collaborative setting; sense of humor preferred

  • BS/BA required; MBA a plus
