The Mastercard Software Builders Experience (MSBX) team is looking for a Product Manager-Technical to drive the transformation of developer experience across Mastercard.
This role will support the enablement of software engineers by improving documentation workflows, streamlining onboarding for internal products, and enhancing platform usability. The Specialist will collaborate across engineering, product,
and technical writing teams to ensure developers can build, deploy, and operate high-quality software with speed and confidence.
Role • Product Management-Technical (PM-T) is a technical product management role that partners closely with customers, Technical Program Managers, Software Design Engineers, and User Experience teams.• Defines and guides products-often technical-from conception to launch by bridging the technical and business worlds.• Breaks down requirements into features and user stories, prioritizes the backlog, and defines acceptance criteria.• Takes a long-term view, becoming domain experts beyond the scope of a single project.• Provides engineering teams with a well-groomed backlog of features and user stories.• Promotes reuse of product building blocks and drives continuous innovation for internal and external customers.• Defines how new capabilities fit within the platform ecosystem and writes/prioritizes user stories to build new components.• Surfaces commercialization opportunities for their building blocks and proposes ideas to product development teams for further advancement.
In this role you will:• Advocate for customers by engaging with them to understand their use cases, pain points, workflows, priorities, and daily tools.• Understand the customer journey and user experience to help them efficiently develop, deploy, and scale applications across multiple platforms.• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver platform capabilities that meet internal and external customer needs.• Identify and track key product metrics-usage, quality, satisfaction-to inform product
All About You• Bachelor's degree in computer science.• Experience developing/launching products/technologies.• Experience with product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams.• Like to dive deep into the technical and operational characteristics of the product• Demonstrated ability to operate with complete independence and autonomy• Proven track record of data-driven decision making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across your team• Experience in agile delivery methodologies (scrum, Rally, etc.)• Can communicate to peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity• Ensures features and associated documentation are clear and easily consumable by other engineering teams.• Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.• Ability to build organizational relationships, partnering with and influencing teams while commanding the respect of the individuals on the team• Experience defining and building cloud-native software products as a cloud platform at scale is a plus
