You will act as a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer who will play a critical role on a dynamic Agile-based Scrum team as a member of the Treasury Workspace application team. You will work closely with the Squad Lead, Scrum Master, Systems Analyst, Quality Assurance, Architects, and other Engineers, to craft, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity’s Treasurer’s Office user experience. You will also be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior Engineers within the wider Finance and Fund Oversight (FFO) technology chapter.
The Role
- Experience collaborating in a team environment to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features
- A passion for system analysis to provide our business partners with the best solution for them
- Experience mentoring less senior Engineers and enforcing standards across a team
- A demonstrable understanding of the Agile software development methodology
- Significant experience and expertise in modern Java (Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot) development, front end frameworks (especially Angular), and hands-on coding.
- A working knowledge of relational databases
- A working knowledge of application deployment and runtime operations in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
- Experience with Java middle tier application development and programming especially with RESTful Web Services (Java, Spring, Junit)
- Experience with at least one front-end framework (Angular, React, Vue, etc.)
- Familiarity with the following will be considered a very strong plus:
- Jenkins
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Github
- Docker
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with designing and building large scale web applications.
- Expertise in Web based development especially Java and Angular
- Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a desire to learn and engage with peers in technical and design discussion.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners and business partners.
- Experience in a financial services application domain or other heavily regulated industry.

The Treasurer’s Workspace (TWS) system is a key application within Fidelity’s Asset Management portfolio of technology. The TWS application enables Treasurer’s Office users to perform several business-critical fiduciary oversight, reporting, and regulatory functions at the scale of billions of dollars.
